Tesla to offer their first car in India with a starting price of Rs. 20 lakhs

Tesla plans to offers Indians the first car starting at only Rs.20 lakhs, the price of top end Nexon EV MAX or the Upcoming Curvv!

It is well anticipated that MAX will be replaced soon by Curvv. So it will hit bang where the competition is hotting up where the Creta EV and MG ZS EV is too priced a little higher.

So as Indian are SUV crazy, Tesla too might drop a product that will brush shoulders with TATA's new EV and other established brands. So what do you think will be the EV and how successful will it be.

Taking Tesla's premium segment into consideration, I doubt if Tesla will launch a car the size of Curvv that will be 4.3 meters. I think Tesla will launch a car the size of Mini with a battery pack of 35 KWh.

Tesla to finally come up with a factory in India and a locally manufactured car rumoured to go on sale with a starting price of Rs. 20 lakhs.

The American EV maker has finally entered into discussions with the Indian government regarding a prospective investment to establish a car manufacturing facility in the country.

The proposed factory would have an annual production capacity of up to 5,00,000 electric vehicles, catering to the Indian market.

This will definitely not happen in the next 5-7 years , sure they might introduce a model that starts at 20 lakhs but we all know that the base variant will take years to materialise as they will prioritise the highest priced models first.

With the condition of chinese gigafactory and the market as it is, it is absolutely imperative for Tesla to show some forward momentum to its stakeholders. Opening a new factory in India is the step in the right direction as it will bring economies of scale for Tesla as well as the other regional players such as Tata and Mahindra.

In that sense it would augur well for Tesla to open this factory at the earliest.

The only 20L car Tesla has spoken about is a hatchback model which was to go into production in 2023. But as with all things Elon Musk, the years keep rolling forward and promises keep coming and going. Nobody has even seen a prototype yet.

And if they say it's gonna be a SUV now, you gonna be staring at repeat telecast of the Cybertruck story!

Is it going to be a Nano version of Tesla? Then it certainly can match the sub-20L price range. I don't think Tesla or the Govt said anything of this sort. It's just that the media misinterpreted it and published it for headline management.

Yes, just like how Elon has delivered the autopilot being truly autonomous, Cybertruck, Roadster, we will get a Tesla for 20 lakhs.
