Ligier Myli electric micro-hatchback spotted in India

France-based automaker, Ligier has been associated with endurance racing for quite some time. Besides motorsports, the company has also been producing microcars since 1980. Its latest creation is called the Ligier Myli.

The Myli was recently spotted testing in India, which has led to speculations that the company might be evaluating the Indian market. If launched, the Myli could rival the MG Comet EV.

The Ligier Myli is an electric micro-hatchback. In Europe, the car is available in four trims: G.OOD, I.DEAL, E.PIC and R.EBEL. The lower variants are said to have a range of 63 km, while the higher trims can travel up to 123 km on a single charge.

Like the Comet EV, the Myli is also a 2-door hatchback with a short wheelbase. The car comes equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels and has disc brakes on all four corners.

The Ligier is sold under the quadricycle category in France alongwith the likes of Chatenet, Citroen Ami etc
They are governed by a separate set of homologation norms, less stringent mandatory safety requirements and a cap on top speed. It can be driven by 16 year olds also, possessing a moped licence.
Maybe it is in India for testing purposes. Many OEM's are now running part of their testing and development programmes in our country, to check component and vehicle durability under harsh Indian conditions.
With the new Indian safety norms coming in, it may not be feasible to re-engineer the tiny Ligier to meet the upcoming homologation norms.

This car was spotted again, with its windshield indicating that it is being tested by ARAI.
From the image it looks like LHD, could be for Bharat Electric Mobility expo.
