Bronze Mahindra XUV700 test mule spotted; is it an electric version?

A test mule of what is believed to be the Mahindra XUV700-based electric SUV has been spotted. As you can see, the EV has a bronze chrome finish.

Unfortunately, there is only one image that reveals the electric SUV in the side profile. The bodyshell is the same as the ICE-powered XUV700, however, we can expect a few cosmetic changes such as a blanked-out front grille and different trim. That being said, the exterior colour is similar to the accent colour seen on the first XUV.e8 prototype that was unveiled in the UK last year.

Inside, the electric version could get a triple-screen setup housed within a slim, horizontal display.

Technical details of the XUV700 electric SUV are still scarce. However, we can expect it to be based on Mahindra's INGLO modular electric platform. It supports 60-80 kWh battery packs and is compatible with single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations.

Not a big fan of the copper accents in XUV400. Whatever the do I hope they do not actually bring out a Copper coloured production car. It would be such an eye sore on
our roads.

Looks more like a Rose-Gold version of the XUV700. Probably for those who want Max bling! I'm keen on knowing the real world range capabilities of this one. Hope it doesn't disappoint like the XUV400.

Im holding on to my 2018 XUV500 in hope that in the next few years there would be a decent EV SUV offering from one of the Indian manufacturers. This EV version of this xuv700 is on top of that list.

I just have my fingers crossed hoping they launch these in a regular boring colors without any Cu trims. It'll be real weird body wrapping a blingy copper color with a white body wrap. Is it too much to ask for a sleeper EV in mundane ICE colors?

MG ZS EV white without the EV stickers looks like an Astor from the outside. A true sleeper EV.

seen some test mules of the EV running with heavy camouflage but in the disguise of the regular ICE version of the XUV700. However, this time around seems design patent which seems to be production ready.

The overall proportions and silhouette is unmistakably XUV700. The front end looks futuristic having the T shaped large LED DRLs connected with a strip of LED under the bonnet.

I hope the vehicle looks better in person, cars are losing individuality in terms of design with electrification barring a few good looking examples like Ionic 5 and EV6, the headlight design is in your face and reminds one of the creature from Predator movie

How do things like these leak in the first place?

Also looks like innovation today means just drawing lines. New innovative headlights which are just straight lines. New innovative tail lamps which are also, you guessed right, straight lines. Turning signals as well. DRLs too.

Patenting is not always about innovation, companies use patents to protect their business interests. Companies patent numerous things to prevent the competition from copying.

Verna was trolled for a 'tubelight' at the front. Guess what, we have another one now. Let's see how the desi design is treated once this hits the streets!

Mahindra XUV.e8 electric SUV interior spied

New images of the Mahindra XUV.e8 have surfaced online. The latest images give us a glimpse of the electric SUV's interior.

The latest spy images suggest that the XUV.e8 will feature a completely redesigned interior. Interestingly, the car has a 2-spoke steering wheel similar to the recently launched Tata Nexon facelift.

The dashboard of the XUV.e8 looks brand new as well. It houses three screens, including one for the instrument cluster. The centre console has a conventional automatic gear selector and a circular dial for the drive modes.

The XUV.e8 will share most of its body panels with the XUV700, except for a redesigned front fascia with T-shaped LED daytime running lights and an LED light bar. The blanked-off front grille will be flanked by headlamps positioned in triangular pods.

The XUV.e8 electric SUV is likely to be based on Mahindra's INGLO platform. It is expected to use an 80 kWh battery pack, powering a single or dual-motor setup. It could pack around 227-345 BHP.

Re: Bronze Mahindra XUV700 test mule spotted; is it an electric version?

This one looks slightly bigger and might be intended for Highway drives. Such a big car for city usage, I am not sure how helpful it is going to be.

It is interesting to observe the different paths that Tata and Mahindra are taking. Tata is electrifying its small and medium fleet. They have Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch will join sometime soon, then they will have Curvv, and then Sierra, all of them are approx. 4.3 m in size. Perfect for City usage. Even the Avinya concept is said to be 4.3M in length. Harrier and Safari are kind of ICE to EV conversions, not skateboard platforms and they do not have any platform to compete with Mahindra's future Inglo platform-based vehicles.

Mahindra on the other hand, straight up looking at the premium range, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 which are big and long, and then BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 are based on Skateboard platforms. I do not see any smaller offering to compete with Tata in the lower segments.

Interesting times ahead.
