Only government departments buy Tigor EV nowadays, and fleet buyers buy its XPressTV variant. Personal buyers prefer Tiago EV. There is clear differentiation between the two. Positioning Punch EV shouldn’t be an issue.

They are offering this feature with Nexon EV both Prime and Max. If there is a Punch EV Max, they will surely offer this. Hell even ICE Nexon gets hill hold function but it is inferior to that of the one in Nexon EV Max.

Agree with you on the fact that they should have given it to the Tiago EV.

It seems Tata is coming up with max version of Tigor EV.

I doubt the Punch electric also will get it. I drive the Punch AMT and it lacks one, not a major deal breaker though once you get the knack of operating using accelerator and break

Well it won't be a problem for most, but here is the thing, the accelerator pedal just won't work (even partially like it does in ICE) when brakes are applied.

Hopefully they get it.

Also is it possible for TATA to give such feature to Tiago EV via an upgrade in the software?

In this interview, Shailesh Chandra says, their first Gen 2 EV will be launched by the end of this financial year.

All gen 1 EVs have been launched. Tiago was their last Gen 1 EV.

Surely it is Punch EV. Altroz will get the EV with a facelift which is not coming this year.

We have only 2 ICE vehicles on the Alpha platform. The other option is Nexon ICE being upgraded to the Alpha platform and becoming the first Gen2 Nexon EV too.

Tata Punch EV has been spotted testing again. This time, interestingly, the Punch EV dons new alloy wheels and has new interior bits.

- 360-degree camera

- New two-spoke steering wheel

- New 10.25-inch touchscreen

- New alloy wheels

The covered up face looks more similar to the Curvv and the Nexon facelift. But, maybe its the camouflage doing what it's supposed to do.

If priced around 15 lakhs on road in most states, this is going to be a perfect city car, Punch ev has a lot going for it and can easily make Tata the 2nd largest manufacturer in the country provided they have enough production capacity

I would like to throw my 2 cents here.

First, I think this will be a bang for a buck product of we look at how the ICE version sells. Pricing of course is a crucial factor.

Second it looks like Tata is slowly phasing out their old ICE screens. As they are bringing their new 10.25" screen to their cars. Nexon facelift (Nexon EV Max is already having this screen for it top variant) and Altroz racer are the next candidates for this screen and will make it to the Standard Altroz soon after like what happened with the CNG version where Sunroof was soon introduced to the normal car after launch of CNG version. Also some publications are saying they are developing a 12" version of this screen as well. If that is true then good.

Also I think the recent spyshots show the probability of a Punch Facelift in the future. Some features won't definitely make it like the Electronic parking brake, rear disc brakes etc. Would like to see Tata offer their T-GDI engines in the Punch the 1.2 obviously.

I would like it to have the output from Tigor EV for small pack and the output from Nexon EV Prime for the large battery pack as this platform is designed for space efficiency for the battery pack.

Do we have an ETA when either Punch / Altroz EVs could be launched? I am in analysis of buying a Tiago EV (Limited parking for Nexon's width) but I think Punch would be the best package.

The updated Tata Nexon EV is expected by late September, which will likely be followed by the Harrier EV, Punch EV and the Curvv EV SUV.

Autocar India states that the Punch EV is expected to launch before the end of 2023. I think that is enough reason to believe that the Punch Facelift is also in works as the Punch EV spyshots have revealed a redesigned front fascia.
