LFP does not use open cycle electrolyte, the entire battery is sealed shut which is why it’s IP67 rated

No material enters or leaves the battery

And using different battery is out of question because it defeats the purpose of the testing — they test to check the real life situations in the car and using different battery for testing would simply invalidate the testing if the battery being tested is not the one on the sales units

Lastly, that pipe is not even where the battery is supposed to be. The boot area has the spare on my Nexon, the battery only extends between the wheelbase. Only Tiago and tigor have a two part battery pack split between wheelbase and boot, that too on LR model only.

It seems, the PunchEV is coming with a prismatic cell battery and will be styled more like an EV.

New look confirmed! It appears that the Punch ICE will retain the present look for some more time. The Punch EV will be launched with new looks and a perhaps a different name.

I saw Punch EV up close today.
I could see the bigger 10.25 inch infotainment screen, rotary dial based drive selector, new steering with Tata backlit logo, new Nexon inspired alloys and front fascia.

Tata Punch Ev:

- To get a full-width LED light bar
- Front-bumper mounted charging port

the test mule although covered in typical camouflage reveals the placement of the charging port which is mounted on the front bumper. Then, also visible is the full-width LED light bar/DRL running across the bonnet.

Should I wait for Punch EV or go ahead with Nexon EV or Venue 1.0 DCT

Actually looking for Automatic car primarily used for local city commute, majorily for kids school drop & pickup, groceries etc.

We have Innova Crysta as family car so just need a small automatic car. Wife is currently learning driving so she can use the same after getting licence.

Looking for help from the community. I will be using Company Car Lease policy to buy the vehicle and maximum budget around 10L and happy to extend till 15L if its really value product.

Will use the car for long term atleast 5-8 years and yearly mileage will be less than 10000kms.

Front bumper is usually weaker than rear, to account for pedestrian protection and crumple zones. This is why we see videos of Maruti cars rear ending some des ka loha cars, and fanboys floating in comment how the car is tin car etc.

I wonder about the placement of charging point at such comparitively weaker section of the car.

Tata Punch EV details from latest spy pics:

Upcoming Tata Punch EV spied once again with LED headlights similar to the Nexon EV.

It will feature EV-specific design elements like a redesigned grille and modified bumpers.

Should come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a fully digital driver’s display.

All these changes preview the updates that will be made to the standard Punch.

The Punch EV will be offered in two variants – Medium Range and Long Range – with a range of up to 325 km.

The Punch EV will be based on the ALFA platform with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, which essentially is an ICE to EV conversion with major modifications. It will come with a liquid-cooled battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor powering the front wheels. Like in the case of the Tigor, Tiago, and Nexon EVs, Tata Motors could offer the Punch EV with two different battery sizes and charging options.
