As per this link.

"Section 80EEB: Eligibility and Conditions

Any individual who has taken a loan to purchase an electric vehicle can claim a deduction under Section 80EEB. However, the following eligibility criteria and conditions must be satisfied to claim the deduction:"

Apparently you can get a 1.5 lakh deduction. Mine's a company car so I did not investigate.

This is no longer applicable, and due to the date, never was for the Comet

Comet was launched after this date, mid 2023.

For standard depreciation benefits one would want to purchase on March 31st to get the benefit right from.the next day, April 1st, but that would've been an increase, not decrease.

I read somewhere that JSW-MG was renovating/modifying their Halol plant to increase the production of EV's (Windsor in particular). Maybe that's the reason why they didn't push for Comet sales. Hector used to clock around 1800+/month sales but ever since Windsor got launched, all the other cars including Hector lost sales. Now they are providing huge discounts on Hector, Gloster, Astor along with Comet.

I think Comet is still the best fit solution for urban mobility & will always find customers who understand the utility this niche product provides.
