Mahindra XUV400 built using 100% renewable energy Mahindra aims to become carbon neutral by 2040. Taking a step towards achieving this goal, the carmaker has begun manufacturing its XUV400 electric SUV with 100% renewable energy.
The XUV400 is built at Mahindra's Nashik plant. It is said to be a 100% water-positive facility and uses clean, renewable energy.
According to Mahindra, the energy saved during the manufacturing process can illuminate more than 1,000 homes for a year and is equivalent to planting 1 lakh trees. The water-positive manufacturing set-up is claimed to save more than 20,000 kilolitres of water and can provide water for 100 homes in a year.
The Mahindra Group is entirely water-positive and is the first Indian company to sign EP100 and adopt a carbon pricing model. Mahindra Ag North America's Houston facilities recently switched to 100% renewable energy.
The XUV400 was launched in January this year with prices starting at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-SUV is offered with two battery options offering a range of 375-456 km (MIDC cycle). Link to Team-BHP News
