BPCL launches 6 highway corridors for fast charging of electric cars

BPCL has launched EV fast-charging stations on the following six highways in Western India to support electric vehicles.

Pune-Ahmednagar-Aurangabad – 240km
Pune-Solapur (4 ROs), 250km
Pune- Nashik (4 ROs), 200km
Pune-Kolhapur (3 RO s), 225km
Mumbai- Nashik (3 RO s) 200km
Nashik- Shirdi (3 RO s), 90km

The fast chargers can recharge EVs in 30 minutes and give a driving range of up to 125 kilometers.
BPCL plans to cover 200 highways with fast chargers by March 2023 as part of its decarbonization strategy and customer convenience.
The fast chargers follow the CCS-2 protocol and can be operated via a pay-per-use online service through the HelloBPCL app.
BPCL also offers other amenities at its fuel stations such as food outlets, convenience stores, washrooms, parking and more.

BPCL is on a roll, I just check Ionage app, which is what they use, and Karnataka has many BPCL chargers on Bengaluru Pune highway, and Mangaluru-Sholapura Highway.

Good job on extending fast charging infra on essential highways. Commendable job.

I am unhappy with the charger details mentioned, nowhere in the article too is the charging speed in KW mentioned, that's the single biggest factor for a DCFC.

Saying can charge an EV in 30mins is pointless as different cars have different battery capacities.

Ionage app is prone to crashing. They need to work a lot on making it more reliable. Also I learnt from Ionage contact that many of the BPCL chargers are not 24X7. They shut them down in the night.

Many of the press releases about EV are like this. Very vague. This is similar to the questions I frequently get from common folks on street. How much time does it take to charge? Now how do we answer that in simple terms
