Volvo has updated the XC40 and C40 Recharge EVs for the international market. The new versions get larger battery packs with a higher range and more powerful electric motors.



The XC40 and C40 Recharge models are now offered with an 82 kWh battery offering 32 km (single-motor) and 64 km (dual-motor) of additional range over the previous version. The cars now support up to 200 kW fast charging that can recharge the battery from 10-80% in just 10 minutes.

The single-motor versions of the XC40 and C40 Recharge now pack 235 BHP, up from 228 BHP. The dual-motor versions have the same overall output of 402 BHP, but the front and rear motors now produce 161 BHP and 242 BHP, respectively.

Volvo currently offers the XC40 Recharge in India. It is available in the dual-motor P8 variant. The carmaker plans to introduce the C40 Recharge next year.

I wonder if Volvo will do something about back seats of XC40 recharge. Upright and not very comfortable, back seat situation makes it driver +1 only car. Wish they can add recline mechanism to back seats in 2023 model

This is something that European manufacturers are now learning from Koreans (Kia,Hyundai) how to make rear seat useful for adults instead of only thinking them as kids seats. Recent BMW X1 is a clear example, where they added both incline and slide adjustments in rear. Hope the rest follow.
