I'm away from home for more than a week now.

Couple of days ago, my phone popped and I see there is a new software update. Like a small school boy who get's his candy, I immediately pressed the update button.

It still amazes me that I am sitting in a different country and my Tesla at home is updated remotely and I get to enjoy these features as soon as I am back home.

Surreal Feeling. !!!

Here is another "insignificant" but, thoughtful update.

New Features are Self-Explanatory.

Elon Musk is like Salman Khan or Aamir Khan movie producer, he drops a major update just before Christmas to ring in the festivities and also to usher in the new year. !!!

Last weekend, Musk drop a comprehensive & amazing software update that brings in some nice, unique and good to have features to the car.

This is what makes the ownership of a Tesla interesting as every few weeks tons of new features keep getting added making you feel like driving a new car each month.

What are these new features? Let's take a look at them.

Firstly, Rosso Diablo crossed 12,000 miles last week.



This is the most useful and awesome update- Now the surroundings can be fully viewed in 3D. This update is available only to 2023 cars which have Tesla Vision.





Apple Podcasts come to Tesla as a NATIVE APP.



New Arcade games have been added and CYBERTRUCK can be seen as one of them. Now connect PS5 or Xbox Controller to get the real feel of console gaming in the car.



Important Update- In the event of an accident, an automatic call goes to 911.



More cameras added for increased viewing of the car via. Cellphone App.




Important Update and Long Due- Now Traffic Signals and Speed Camera warnings on the Tesla MAP UI.



On the fly Navigation route change options.



New LIGHTSHOW added.



This is crazy- Customize the lock sound with 10-15 different sounds inbuilt.



This is super useful- Red Shading on screen to warn blindspot when changing lanes.



Here is the list of sounds that can be used to customize the lock sound of car.



Trip Planner on Cellphone app. Super Useful.



One of the recall feature- Suspension for 1 week if the driver doesn't pay attention to road when in Autopilot after 5-Warnings. Stringent..huh??

Single Pull to enable Autopilot (Previously, it was double pull).

Of course, me being a total techie nerd would have to test them all. And drive my wife completely bonkers with it.

But seriously, thanks for keeping us updated on your Tesla experience. Very interesting to read. At some point in time I will need to get myself an EV so the more I know the better.

I won’t be surprised if these nutty features are the brainchild of Musk. He has totally different brains inside his head. LOL!

Last week, I changed to “ Goat Sound” and I forgot that I changed it. When I walk away from the car, there is a goat bleating behind me and it startled me a few times.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m totaling enjoying my Tesla experience and loving every minute of the ownership.

My high recommendation for an EV will ONLY be a Tesla (Choose a model that suits your lifestyle). Rest of the competition is at the bare minimum half a decade behind in every aspect of EV technology.

It's not that I disagree, but currently Musk is third on my list of most despicable human beings. Right behind Putin and Trump and only marginally ahead of the idiot Geert Wilders.

I refuse to buy anything from a low life such as Musk.

IMO, every commercial enterprise out there is "Evil" and, the degree vary with each of them.

If I follow your principles, I would be sleeping in a "hut" and driving a "bullock cart".

There is nothing wrong with commercial enterprises. I worked in commercial business all my life. Nothing wrong with making a profit.

I don't, within certain boundaries, have any issues at all. I have major issues with Musk as a person and his influence which go way beyond commercial business.

Yesterday, I felt the need to discover myself and find the zen state within myself.

So, what did I do?

I decided to drive 75 miles (120 kms) round-trip to enjoy a cup of coffee.

1- Hour to reach the destination which is a small coffee shop with back of store facing snow capped mountains.

1- Hour to enjoy coffee and admire & gape at the mountains which were right in the face.

1-Hour to drive back home.

Door-to-Door 3-Hours. Time well spent, don't you think?

Not into any electric vehicles, but I do enjoy viewing your drives. Great coffee shop!!

Well, Electric Vehicles especially the performance ones are a different type of "kick". It feels like you are teleporting into a different world in a jiffy.

On a separate note, I gave the "Rosso Diablo" her first wash ever since I got her home 14-months ago.

Obviously, it has to be a touch-less wash. This was my first ever experience of a touch-less wash and it was pretty cool.

Seattle Fireworks- NYE 2024

This New Year's Eve we decided to do something different. We headed to Downtown Seattle to the iconic " Space Needle" to witness the NYE Fireworks.

I was told these fireworks are one of the best in the US and I have to confess that it was indeed one of the greatest spectacle that we witnessed in our life.

There were 500 Drones in action which did the countdown to ushering in the New Year's.

I have witnessed NYE's fireworks in New York, Boston, Detroit and Niagara Falls and they don't last this long. Seattle fireworks went on continuously for 30-minutes which was a surprise as that is a lot of money blown up in smoke.

We had reserved a parking by paying $30 for 4-hours (10;00pm-2:00am) about 0.5 miles away from Space Needle as we knew it's going to be super crowded and won't find any parking near the Needle. We then walked in a warm 4C temps to the venue and waited for the countdown.

We loved this experience and since we were right below the Needle, the view point was different. The folks who saw it from a distance (Multiple locations to view the Space Needle from a distance), it was even more spectacular. Perhaps, next time we will view it from a distance to view the actual fireworks formations.

P.S : This was also a test for the newly acquired iPhone 15 Promax for pictures and video. Super happy with how it performed at night. True colors and super stable. All these pictures taken with people jostling each other. LOL.

Back to the parking lot to our " Red Beast"

Couple of days ago a crazy incident happened.

It's snowing a bit here (not much) and roads have become dangerously icy and with lot of black sleet.

I came home, parked the car in the driveway. After an hour, I just happened to glance outside and I was shocked to see the Tesla has slide back quite a bit and almost into the community roadway.

Immediately, I parked the car inside the garage.

In the evening, I came back home and stopped in the driveway. Car was in Park (P) mode. And, with me inside, the car kept sliding back.

Is it because of no gears or P function is not enough to hold the car in a slightly uphill position?

Any Tesla owners faced this situation?

Late afternoon it was sunny and beautiful sun rays fall on mountains behind home.





Within a few hours, the weather changes to snow/hail/rain and same roads become absolutely treacherous. That's Seattle weather for you.



I had parked close to garage door (2 inches away- I always test the parking sensors) and look how far it slide back. Whew !!

Interesting that you hadn’t faced this yet. Had seen couple of instances- 1, 2 sometime back on Reddit and had also seen a YouTube video in which the car rolled down into a parked car. Luckily yours wasn’t charging or could have been worse too. Looks like you will need to do the traditional jugaad of putting stones under the tyres.

Yup. First time.

It's rare that we get black sleet formation. It's either snow or rain and in those instances never experienced this phenomena.
