Yes. This would be a good time to buy a used Tesla. But, you should be aware that the prices will continue to drop so you will lose value on an ongoing basis more than other cars.
If you don’t care about it. Then you can get it.

I understand that resale value of Tesla is going down, but you had anyway paid for it, and you loved the car - why did resale value dictate your car upgrading decision?
Do you expect the resale to fall so much in the next 1 year, that you would have lost more on it than a new Merc? :o |
Well, I am not Ambani so like most folks I took the car on loan. Here is a quick math.
I paid $75K for the Tesla and now it’s worth less than $30K as per Tesla.
If I sell the Tesla, I would still have a lot of negative equity. I did a deal with Mercedes who gave me a phenomenal value for the Tesla compared to external market and they also rolled over my negative equity into the new car payments so it was a win-win. My negative equity is taken care and I have a brand new luxury car to drive.
Hope this explanation helped you understand my financial predicament.

Congratulation for the new ride. Wish you many happy miles with the new machine. |
Thanks. I explained above.
Tesla is a great product and will get the newer Tesla in future (2-3 years down the line).

Thanks. Now after driving the Mercedes for a week, the only thing that I miss about the Tesla is its thrilling and crazy acceleration. Other than that, I find everything else in the Mercedes pretty good and makes me feel like I am “Ambani”..lol!

When Polestar 2 was launched, I drove its performance version and I was not too impressed and got the Tesla.
Coincidentally, a couple of weeks ago, I drove the new
Polestar 3. They have an offer of $20,000 discount on the Polestar 3 if you are a Tesla owner.
I drove the 3 and yet again, I was not impressed. It felt heavy, sluggish despite being the top-end performance model. Their interiors are very good build quality but, the way things are appointed left a lot to be desired.
Besides, their pricing is way off the mark as it starts at $80K and ends at $92K which is ridiculous for.a Polestar. No wonder they are giving $20K discount for Tesla owners. I
I doubt if they can sell at this price point.

I’m already lovin’ it. This picture might help you guess the car. Haha!
It’s not a race car like Tesla but, it’s Smooth, Peppy, Silent, Luxurious compared to a Tesla.
