Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

When using the ac in an ev check the current consumption when adjusting the thermostat, if you set it to high you may actually be consuming more because the heater comes into play. Better to set it low & regulate temperature with the fan speed.

2 more points I would like to add. Firstly, in our excite I have never felt the aircon to be inadequate. I am mostly comfortable with temperature set at 25 degrees and don’t remember needing to reduce it below 22 ever to cool down the cabin. So the Sunroof probably has a significant impact.
Secondly, regarding the mileage I believe the ZS will give you around 8km/kwh easily unless you push it really hard. My wife drives the ZS daily between Vaikom and Pala. This is a 40 km stretch full of curves and hills and narrow roads and she is not a particularly sedate driver. The round trip of 80kms she uses 20% of battery in normal mode and 19% in Eco mode. What I am saying is the ZS will give you around 8km/kwh even if you drive it with particularly no regard for the mileage. It might give you better mileage if you drive carefully under better road conditions.

Please let me know nay specific benefits that you find when compared to portable charger.
If and when you sell the car or exchange for another car/EV, including the portable charger will fetch you a better price. It increases the value of your car on exchange.

I did try the Exclusive variant but could not manage to achieve it.
Anyone with the Excite variant(non sunroof) manage to achieve it?

* End of Round trip efficiency figures or on flat roads. Definitely not Hypermilling without AC but more of a relaxed highway driving.
8-9 km/kwh is the best you can achieve with A/c and good driving habits.

I took this drive during January; thus the AC was off both during outbound and return. Now a days, rear seat occupant takes a little more time to get comfortable when the car is driven at Eco as the AC performance is quite muted. I have started driving out at Normal and shift to Eco after 10 minutes. This is helping, I believe panoramic sunroof has some impact yet I would agree that it brings in a lot of liveliness in the cabin during winter with roof curtain off.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

I bought a new excite pro ZS EV in April 2024. The jbl speakers did not come fitted from factory and the dealer later ordered them. Upon installation I saw that theyre the basic JBL A352HI coaxial speakers. The dealership also stated that they can't be upgraded since warranty will be voided. Can someone with the excite pro variant confirm this? The excite pro comes with JBL A352HI coaxial speakers and 2 basic tweeters?

My ZS EVs digital key is not getting connected through Bluetooth. I tried clearing the data and cache of the app and also reinstalled the app. But it is still not getting connected? Any solution?

Has it been three years since you bought the car? Did you try another phone to login? The ismart key functionality works for only three years according to my dealer. After that you have to pay some amount to access the functionality.

- The same model number was installed before delivery
- They are good enough for 90% of users

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

Hi Everyone

I had taken delivery of MG ZS EV Exite Pro on 10th of May 2024
Have driven it 2000 km in less than 10 days
Planning to write up a complete in depth review after 10k km

Here are a few important observations on the car with the experience so far :-

- The car does not have rear cabin reading lights, do not know how MG missed to provide such an essential NEED based feature, even in top variant
- There is a new software for the infotainment 2.0 with a new screen BUT there is no easy way to go to in built navigation
- External ambient temperature plays a huge role in real life range of the car, noticable difference in day and night range with the current heatwave across India
- Auto fold ORVM should have been provided with the Excite Pro variant when the mirror angles can be adjusted electronically
- Like Tata, a 45-60A USB-C charging port must be provided right from base variant

I want to reiterate that Excite Pro remains the most VALUE FOR MONEY variant of MG ZS EV in India at the moment

People planning to buy an EV with 22L budget can buy it without an iota of doubt

Overall satisfied with the cars performance and real life range in Indian conditions so far

"Switch to EVs ASAP "

My delivery is also pending.

Want to know which speakers are installed at the front: JBL components or factory fitted?

Also is the wiring of rear speakers coming separately from HUD unit or is shared with the front speakers? i.e is it possible to balance the front & rear volume from the HUD unit/infotainment system?

Astor has rear cabin lamp, auto dimming irvm & ventilated seats since long time. Shows the lethargy of MG for not bringing these essential features to ZS EV. They are just assembling the car as it is in India.
