Re: Krux Studio reveals Two2 electric car concept

Notice in the first picture another sedan in the background, which has some fiberglass body kit installed.

My guess is that this is just a old reva with a new fiber glass body. Probably not even road legal.

Upcycled is just a fancy word to say we used scrap parts.
Btw am I the only one who thinks the logo took "inspiration " from smart car logo

Re: Krux Studio reveals Two2 electric car concept

Just like the two wheeler EV market, everyone will now try to test their luck by manufacturing electric cars, but unfortunately majority of them won't even sustain for a decent period in the market.

Re: Krux Studio reveals Two2 electric car concept

The BOM cost of such an electric vehicle will probably be around 4L at the best. It will be a difficult sell even for urban commuters. But has good potential for autorickshaw and small goods carriers replacement. Probably even better with swappable battery design.

But honestly, this seems like a half hearted attempt to build an EV.

Re: Krux Studio reveals Two2 electric car concept

Look at wiper home position; its just placed there to to ensure no part is missed. Not functional anyway.
All the parts are lifted from some scrap dealer, tweaked and assembled on some randomly welded frame just to attract few investors.
Designing/developing automotive is a completely different game altogether.

This reminded me of paragraph from book "Santro; the car that built a company".
Attached for ready reference.

I would take this model more as a proof of concept for an independent design studio which wants to get into the automotive design space. Nothing more as a working model to place in the artist’s portfolio to woo in customers.

Re: Krux Studio reveals Two2 electric car concept

Cars are admittedly an urban menace and a legacy of twentieth century thinking. Incompatible with any sensible vision of a healthy, fun, or sustainable future city.

But a city built around electric cycles and mass transit also feels incomplete to me. Given Indian hot weather, traffic chaos and the threat to women, and the needs of the elderly and disabled, a stable vehicle with three or four wheels, AC and space for two - or one person and shopping - is appealing.

This sort of vehicle could help bridge the gap between no-car utopian urbanism and the current disaster.

Even more so the Twizy and Carver, which are narrower and will occupy less road width.

I don't think this thing deserves a thread here. This is at most a good college project or someone's personal hobby. Significantly more mature products of similar kind are already dime a dozen and in market in our neighbor (e.g. Wuling Mini EV). There are also ones that look like housing stuck on a wheel chair which are traffic hazards in smaller cities of PRC.

Another great effort. I went to the website & I'm afraid I agree with most of the comments - a 7.5 L asking price is too much for this, even though it seems to be better than the Pune offering. At a personal level, our daily commute (not touring) does not exceed 50-60 kms. And as the video blurb says, 150 km (the quoted range of the car) for Rs.60 does not seem a stretch. I feel the time may be coming for such devices - keeping all the issues in mind, fuel costs, pollution, congestion & the new buzz-word "sustainable mobility".
