One needs be informed that this one is a Sierra to come to know that it is a new generation reincarnation of Sierra. Though it has some design cues from the Sierra, it looks like the common silhouette of the existing sub compact SUVs. They would have it as an alternative to the curvy designed Nexon in its segment.

In fact it looks similar to the facelifted Maruti Brezza. Should see the original pictures in future to come to a conclusion.

Don't usually like the pillar mounted door handles, but this was one vehicle that direly needed it!!!!

C'mon Tata. You gave the Altroz a C pillar mounted door handle, why not for this. Would have given that 3 door illusion. And No. Flush mounted door handles are not gonna help in anyway to maintain that illusion.

Alas, like what I always mentioned in past threads. The only string they are holding onto for Sierra reference would be the thick body coloured B pillar and blacked out C,D pilar giving that illusion of a 3 door.

In the end, a boxier Harrier with a legacy name and more cavernous 2nd row.

I also feel that this looks more like a boxier Harrier. They should have retained that big glass window of the original Sierra. That was its highlight. On a lighter note, they could have thought of giving "butterfly doors" like some aftermarket modification available on the Sierra! Would have been better than this.

Tata Sierra EV launch confirmed for FY2026.

Tata has now confirmed that the Sierra EV will launch before March 2026. It is expected to use the brand’s Acti.EV architecture, like the Punch EV and upcoming Harrier EV, and is likely to be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform.

First model from Tata’s Avinya brand of premium EVs will also launch in FY26

Sierra EV likely to be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform
Avinya will be a premium EV brand

As for the first Avinya model, not much is known in terms of body style or specifications, and it's also unclear if Tata and Avinya will operate as independent brands.

Motoroctane claims to have big news regarding the launch of the new Tata Sierra. Tata motors recently held an investors day wherein they presented the launch timeline of the Sierra.

The launch of Tata Sierra will be launched in the financial year 2026, that means that the SUV could be expected to be launched by the end of 2025 or by early 2026.

Also Tata will launch the petrol version of the Sierra SUV before the EV. Initially Tata said EVs would roll out before ICE counterparts, but the trend seems reversing as EVs are not catching up on sales compared to Hybrids and CNGs. This maybe due to the price and slowdown in adaptation of battery technology. Now almost all EVs are on discounts.

I watched this interview yesterday where Martin Uhlarik of Tata Motors spoke about Sierra as well. He mentioned that after the launch of Curvv, Sierra is their next focus and confirmed that it would come in 2025. Check at 30:43 mark.
