MG Motors India MD Rajeev Chaba told the media that they will launch an EV at a price between Rs 10 to 15 lakhs by end of next fiscal (by March 2023).
"It is actually a kind of a crossover and this is going to be based on a global platform, which we are going to develop and this will be an EV for the mass market for all the emerging markets including India," Chaba said. For India, he said, "We will customize this car for the range and the Indian regulations and customer taste...It will be specially tailored for India. We will start working on it right now."
Bullish on the planned EV, he said, "This is the kind of tipping point that we have been talking about that if we are able to do a car between ₹10 lakh and ₹15 lakh that can give us good volumes. So hopefully, this would be our volume EV car."
MG also trying to increase the production of ZS EV to 500+ units a month by February. The company has more than 2000 orders pending currently while it is able to supply only 250 to 300 units a month.

MG is planning to preview the electric hatchback as a concept at the Beijing motor show in April.
Unveiling the production model will take place in the second half of the year. The production model is expected to hit global markets in 2023.

MG looks set to offer a family-hatch sized electric car with new a
MG4 nameplate, and here is how it could look like:

The pic. is off the SAIC production line from its Ningde plant. Codenamed MG EH32 (CyberE) it has been made with a collaboration between the British team and the Chinese team at SAIC.

The biggest opponent in the market for the MG CyberE hatchback is the Volkswagen ID.3.

The new MG is supposed to rival the VW Id3(£32k +), Kia EV6 (£34k +), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (£35k +) etc.... so that's ballpark Rs 30-40 lacs starting.
The Rs 10 to 15 lakh in the title looks misleading and highly unlikely, OR the company is talking about an altogether different small car.
