Volvo presents the dashboard design of its upcoming EX90.

The Volvo EX90 has a large central display gives you quick access to navigation, music and phone, as well as controls and other common actions. Depending on whether you're parked or driving, or in a phone call, a special contextual bar will suggest the actions that make the most sense for the specific situation you're in.

For more driving-centric information such as directions, current speed and range information, there's a second, smaller screen right behind the steering wheel. This is also where the car contextualizes the shift from one mode to another, making sure it knows what to expect from the car and the driver's car.

The transition from manual to assisted driving modes (and in the future, to autonomous driving) in our cars is easy and intuitive.

Volvo teases more of the EX90 that has a drag coefficient of 0.29.

A new video and photos Volvo shows off the rounded nose, the flush doors handles, the smoothed glazing, the covered wheels, and more that contribute to giving the seven-seater SUV of a drag coefficient to a base C8 Corvette.











All of that effort has gone into the pursuit of making the air around the vehicle cling to the body as it moves around it. By doing so, the EX90 slices through the air more efficiently and less of the battery’s power is used, improving range.

We’ve taken inspiration from yacht design to outline the Volvo EX90’s beautiful and sleek proportions.
If you look at the front, it’s proud and confident – inspired by a sailboat’s ability to shear through the ocean’s slamming waves. But it’s also rounder overall, which enables the air to flow around the car more efficiently.
It was a design challenge to integrate lidar in a way that both looks good and is optimal for its safety applications.
We’ve put a lot of effort into the illumination inside the EX90, trying to create a warm interior and a somewhat colder expression for the exterior.
It’s also connected to how people in Scandinavia might be perceived. There’s a calm and understated confidence that can read as cold at first – but once you get to know people, you find that they’re really warm. That very same confidence is exactly what we’re trying to convey in the expression of our cars.

Volvo EX90 unveiled: Volvo Cars enter a new era.

- Volvo claims this is the safest Volvo ever produced, which can get smarter and safer over time.

The EX90’s huge dimensions leave enough room for Volvo to install a massive 111-kWh battery pack. Initially available will be a dual-motor electric powertrain with two permanent magnet motors, one for each axle. In the most powerful version of the family hauler, the peak output of the system is 496 horsepower (370 kilowatts) and 671 pound-feet (910 Newton-meters) of instant torque. Volvo promises an estimated range of up to 300 miles at a single charge, though that hasn’t been certified by the EPA yet. There’s no information regarding the maximum charging power, but the company says getting the battery from 10 to 80 percent state of charge takes about 30 minutes.

The automaker has teamed up with Snapdragon to use the visualization capabilities of Unreal Engine – the same 3D tool developed by Epic Games that underpins some of the most advanced video games – for the computing power and screen graphics onboard the EX90.

The new car will only be offered as an EV, but Volvo knows that some buyers aren’t ready to ditch their ICE powertrains and still want their safety fix. That’s why the old XC90 will be refreshed and remain on sale as a PHEV.

The Volvo EX90 has an invisible shield of safety enabled by our latest sensing technology, inside and outside. State-of-the art sensors like cameras, radars and lidar are connected to the car’s high-performance core computers, where NVIDIA DRIVE runs Volvo Cars’ in-house software to create a real-time, 360-degree view of the world.

Our sensors don’t get tired or distracted. They are designed to respond and react when you’re just a fraction too late. Our lidar, delivered by Luminar, can sense the road in front of you, whether it’s day or night, also at highway speeds. It can see small objects hundreds of metres ahead, creating more time to inform, act and avoid. The sensors also contribute to improve the reliability and overall performance of our assisted driving function Pilot Assist, with a new steering support while changing lanes.

Supporting a more sustainable lifestyle

With its brand new, in-house developed fully electric technology base, the Volvo EX90 is your perfect companion for a more sustainable family lifestyle. Delivering up to 600 kilometres of tailpipe emission-free driving range on a single charge, according to the WLTP test cycle, it charges from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes.

The initially available twin-motor all-wheel drive version is powered by a 111kWh battery and two permanent magnet electric motors together delivering in its performance version 380 kW (517 hp) and 910 Nm of torque. In combination with the brand new chassis, this creates a great and smooth driving experience.

The Volvo EX90 contains approximately 15 per cent of recycled steel, 25 per cent of recycled aluminium as well as 48 kilogrammes of recycled plastics and bio-based materials, which corresponds to around 15 per cent of the total plastic used in the car – the highest level of any Volvo car to date.

Finally, the Volvo EX90 is our first car with all the necessary hardware to enable bi-directional charging. It’s a technology whereby you can use your car battery as an extra energy supply, for example to power your home, other electric devices or another electric Volvo car. We plan to make bi-directional charging available in the future, starting with selected markets.

Volvo EX90 makes North American debut at CES.

The all-electric seven-passenger SUV leverages smart technology and goes big on safety and sustainability.









First revealed last November in Stockholm, Sweden, it leverages technologies developed with Google and Luminar, which all three companies will demonstrate later this week. At the heart of these technologies is a new core computer system designed to understand the driver and their surroundings, getting smarter and safer over time as it learns from new data and receives over-the-air updates.

Eight cameras coupled with a mixture of sensors, including one long-range lidar, five radar, and 16 ultrasonic sensors, are designed to respond and react faster than humanly possible. The lidar, developed by Luminar, can sense the road and see small objects more than 600 feet away day or night, even at highway speeds. It combines with Volvo's new driver understanding system that utilizes a capacitive steering wheel and two camera-based gaze sensors to determine if the driver is alert, distracted, or sleepy.

Inside, a 14.5-inch center screen provides an interface with Volvo's latest infotainment system. It features built-in Google apps and services, including hands-free help from Google Assistant and navigation, among others. Additionally, the system is also compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay.

The 2024 EX90 is available for pre-order in the United States on Volvo's website, with deliveries beginning in early 2024. Prices have not been finalized, but Volvo says well-equipped versions of the EX90 will be priced at under $80,000. Manufactured in South Carolina, it is part of Volvo's strategy to sell 600,000 EVs by 2025 and will be followed by the 2024 EX30, anticipated to debut later this year.

Volvo announces the price of its new Volvo EX90, a technological electric SUV with seven seats.











Volvo's new 100% electric SUV already has prices in Spain. A model equipped with the most advanced technology and an interior in which up to seven passengers can travel. It can travel approximately 600 kilometers on a single charge.

Being a 100% electric vehicle, most eyes are on the propulsion system. All available engines have several characteristics in common. The first one is that they have an all-wheel drive configuration by having two electric motors, one per axle. The second, and no less important, has to do with the "heart" of the EX90. It is a 111 kWh (107 kWh net) lithium-ion battery. The battery is supplied by CATL.

The entry-level model develops an output of 300 kW (408 hp) and 770 Nm of maximum torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. The range of the new EX90 stands at 585 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. And one step above is the most performance alternative. A model with 380 kW (517 hp) and 910 Nm of maximum torque. Complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The maximum speed is also 180 km / h and, in this case, the autonomy reaches 580 km respectively.

Volvo EX90 electric SUV will bring the sun inside with sunlike LED lighting.

The LED technology flickers less and suppresses blue light, to reduce eyestrain, and show colors more naturally.

The automaker revealed today that its next vehicle, the EX90 (as well as the related Polestar 3) will feature SunLike LED lighting provided by Seoul Semiconductor. These will complement the panoramic sunroof, and “enhance the connection with nature.

in particular, that will be highlighted by the SunLike LEDs, which feature non-flickering lighting technology to enable a more natural color to bathe the interior of the vehicle and show off its design.

While Volvo and Polestar will be the first automakers to use SunLike lights, they are already in use in a number of buildings. They are favored by museums, horticulturalists, schools, hospitals, and more for their natural quality.

In addition to providing a more pleasing light temperature, they also suppress blue-light and flickering, which can help to reduce eyestrain and headaches associated with harsher lights. Volvo and Polestar plan to install them as standard in 72 locations within the vehicle, or all non-decorative light fixtures in the EX90.

Volvo's EX90:

The New Volvo EX90 Excellence is a Swedish Maybach.

The ultra-luxury crossover has two individual rear seats, a refrigerator, and fragrance dispenser controlled by a crystal.

the EX90 Excellence will sit at the top of the range and take the “premium experience to the next level.” While the biggest changes occur inside, the flagship stands out thanks to a two-tone paint job and unique 22-inch wheels that feature an eye-catching design.

Two individual rear seats, which replace the traditional second and third rows. The seats are separated by an elegant center console, which has a wooden upper panel that opens to reveal a refrigerator.

There’s another wooden section below, which has an integrated touch panel that provides easy access to the heating and massage settings for the seats. Passengers will also find a large Orrefors crystal that acts as a switch to control the fragrance dispenser. The latter emits three different scents and the “sensory experience is amplified by corresponding mood lighting.”

Customers can choose between wool or Nordico upholstery. While the wool looks great, Volvo noted Nordico upholstery is eco-friendly as it’s “created from textiles made from recycled material such as PET bottles and bio-attributed material from forests in Sweden and Finland.”

And it can also fill up with electricity in a short time on a fast charging station, since it accepts a charging power of 250 kW. This allows it to recover from 10 to 80% of battery in less than 30 min. Necessarily equipped with two engines (one on each axle) and all-wheel drive, it is available in two versions: Recharge Twin with 408 hp and Recharge Twin Performance with 517 hp.

In the second case, the performance is of a very good level if we take into account the consequent mass of the machine, with a 0 to 100 km / h shot in 4.9 s (5.9 s on Recharge Twin). Because naturally, all this debauchery of comfort and equipment combined with the big battery is paid on the scale and the weight exceeds 2.8 tons.

Available from €107,900 (€113,100 for the Performance version), the Volvo EX90 will enter our market in early 2024. And if the orders have been temporarily stopped, there is no doubt that the brand will quickly find a solution to reopen them quickly.

The Volvo EX90's Bowers & Wilkins system delivers 1,610 watts of power.

The Volvo EX90 is the quietest model ever produced by the Swedish carmaker and to take advantage of the silence, Volvo will offer a thumping sound system from the experts at Bowers & Wilkins.

For starters, the sound system has 25 speakers positioned throughout the cabin and is good for 1,610 watts. Many of these speakers have double-etched and brushed stainless steel speaker grilles housed in wood paneling, which Volvo says results in high levels of acoustic transparency.

The speakers for the Volvo EX90’s premium sound system can be found in the dashboard, doors, headlining, rear-wheel housing, and even on the headrests of the front seats.
Volvo will build and sell two versions of the EX90, both of which use a 107 kWh battery pack that supports 250 kW DC charging. The entry-level version uses a pair of electric motors with a combined 408 hp and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque while the Performance model delivers 510 hp and 671 lb-ft (910 Nm).

The Volvo EX90 EV is finally in production after a two-year delay.

Deliveries begin in the second half of the year.

It rides on a new platform packing a 111.0-kilowatt-hour battery, with the Twin Motor Performance trim making 509 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque. A sprint to 60 miles per hour takes 4.7 seconds.

The entry-level Twin Motor trim, which starts at $77,990 (the price includes the $1,295 destination charge), produces 402 hp and 568 lb-ft of twist. It needs an extra second to accelerate from 0-60 mph.

The automaker also packed the EV with sensors and technology, claiming it is the safest Volvo model ever. The car features an external 360-degree camera, five radar sensors, and 16 ultrasonic ones, all designed to help the vehicle see the world around it and allow the driver to react more quickly. Inside, a 14.5-inch center infotainment screen features built-in Google apps and services.
