Back in 2019 when ZS EV was launched in UK the grant was 3.5k (before grant price £28.5k) now as of Jan-22 the grant has come down to 1.5k (before grant price £29k). So the price increase in UK is about £500 or 1.7% for the 51kWH model. But considering the rupee depreciation against the pound and current pricing trends in India we will surely see a higher price bump

I think the SE (comparable to older excite) is £27.5k post grant. The version comparable to old UK exclusive is Trophy, which is £30k post grant. Trophy connect is what we will possibly get in in India is £30.5k post grant.

Yes...I also think we should get 2 trims as well each corresponding to SE and Trophy connect. For both trims the price increase that UK has seen is similar (around 1.7%)

I think the price you have compared the new SE (base version) is the old exclusive (top model). I might be wrong.

I used the old excite model price for comparison with the new SE model. The 2019 excite trim started at £25k (as SKC-auto mentioned in an earlier post) after the £3.5k grant. So the pre grant price was £28.5K. Interestingly MG UK gave an additional subsidy of £3.5k (on base trim) for the first 1000 customers when the car was initially launched. It was a real bargain at £21.5k for the early adopters.

In UK, the new model replacing the old 44KWh model is the 72KWh long range version, that's a nearly 30KWh jump in battery capacity. The 51KWh normal range version has not been launched in UK yet and is expected to come at the same price of the outgoing model with 44KWh battery.
No. I was talking about the price of the 51KWh model. Some of them are available in the UK.

Ya. As NT56 pointed out, the older model was cheaper because of the larger UK grant couple of years back. If you compare the pre grant price of the 44KWh older model and the 51KWh newer one, there is hardly any difference. Also, the difference between 51KWh and long range 72KWh models is also just 2k.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift with bigger battery revealed in Europe

The previous version was a CKD unit in India. Will it be the same for 2022 facelift, considering the fact that it now has lot of part sharing with is ICE cousin Astor ? Will it have any effect on pricing, if they decided to go with local manufacturing (albeit imported battery pack) ?

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift with bigger battery revealed in Europe

I am itching to speculate the price of this facelift model! My guess is anywhere between 28L to 32L. Anything less than 28L, I would consider it as an aggressive pricing strategy.

Will they continue to offer the current model or will they discontinue it?

Can't wait for the unveil!!

The earlier one was already a couple of lakhs expensive. This one is gonna ride the wave of escalated prices. All manufacturers are following suit.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift with bigger battery revealed in Europe

I am sure that it'll be a great car but the Front-end makes it look like an incomplete rendered car in a video game for a moment. I am aware that other EV manufacturers have a clean colour coded front end as well but something just looks a bit odd on this one.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift with bigger battery revealed in Europe

The front grill area looks very bland in an otherwise good looking car. MG could have blackened that area or given a contrasting shade. Or even piano black inserts. I think they’ll price it higher than the existing model because of additional features like ADAS. It could be that the higher variant will be loaded with ADAS and larger battery which could be priced at around 32L OTR and the lower variant might be about 28L OTR.

Horrible! The prefacelift car had a beautiful grille. From that to this, I just can't fathom. Hopefully it may look better in darker shades but in white, it is downright ugly.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift with bigger battery revealed in Europe

It appears that as per this article, there won’t be any change in the technical specifications. Does it mean whether it includes even the battery pack which we were all hoping for a higher capacity.
