Kia shows the roadmap for its future EV, HEV and PBV models.
- Kia Drives Its Transformation to Become a "Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider"
- The roadmap enables Kia to proactively respond to uncertainties in the mobility industry landscape, including changes in the electric vehicle market.
- The company will expand the range of electric vehicles with more models; improving the range of HEV vehicles to manage the fluctuation in demand for electric vehicles
- Target to sell 1.6 million electric vehicles per year by 2030, introducing 15 models
- PBV will play a key role in Kia's growth, with the goal of selling 250,000 PBV annually by 2030 with the PV5 and PV7 models.
- Kia to invest KRW 38 billion through 2028, including KRW 15 billion for future business
Business guidance for 2024: KRW 101 billion in revenue with KRW 12 billion in operating profit; Operating profit margin of 11.9% on sales of 3.2 million units globally
Changes in the electric vehicle market:
• Strengthening of the HEV range: 6 models in 2024 → 8 models in 2026 → 9 models in 2028
• Expand sales of electric vehicles within its new lines, including EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, and plans to produce both electric vehicles and ICE vehicles in 13 factories worldwide.
Electric vehicle Strategy:
• Expand the EV range to 15 models by 2027, aiming to sell 1.6 million EVs by 2030.
• Improve battery performance and ensure cost competitiveness
• Drive a global charging infrastructure expansion strategy (E-pit, IONNA JV, IONITY)
