National Geographic will air a documentary film about the development of the Tata Nexon EV tonight (September 18, 2021) at 7:00 pm.



Titled 'Evolve to Electric with Tata Motors', the 44 min documentary highlights Tata Motors' plan to introduce an EV version of the Nexon in 2018 with an aim to put it on the road in just 12-16 months.

The film takes us behind the scenes at Tata Motors' factory where the Nexon EV is manufactured. It also sheds light on the company's plans to build the infrastructure to support the growth of the EV ecosystem in India.

How are these editorial decisions made? How do we know that these are not subtle PR plugs??

This is a general query where documentaries involve consumer brands and not necessarily for this one.

While I looked and didn’t find it, Nat Geo is run on Disney+Hotstar. If anywhere non pirated, this will be it.

Some other documentaries like last year’s one on COVID frontline workers did come after some delay to Disney+Hotstar.

There would be a repeat on TV too, according to Tata motors’ Twitter

Good to see that TATA is doing everything right so as to market its EV portfolio. They will surely make an impact on minds, In future whenever you say EV immediately people will think about TATA (that's what they are trying to do). They should sustain the success that they have achieved through this EV segment...

It's a "you scratch my back, I scratch yours back" industry. Tata won't give Nat Geo insider access only to be smacked by them. This will be a total PR puff piece, but as long as its informative, I'll watch it.
