Hyundai's luxury brand Genesis to become EV-only brand by 2030; teases 8 new models

Genesis has announced that the company will transition into an EV-only brand from 2025. The luxury car brand owned by Hyundai Motor Group stated that they aim to have a 100% electrified line-up by 2030. The company also plans to become carbon neutral by 2035.

As part of the announcement, Genesis has also unveiled a teaser previewing 8 future models. The teaser image showcases the silhouette of the upcoming models, ranging from sedans to full-size SUVs. The eight new electric models will form the brand's entire product line-up, with a goal of selling 400,000 units annually.

Talking about some of its future products, Genesis announced that of the 8 upcoming EVs, one of them is expected to feature suicide doors with no B-pillar. This model is also said to feature swivelling seats and offer advanced mood lighting.

Genesis also stated that it would innovate its entire value chain starting from raw materials, vehicles, parts and everything up to production plants to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality in a decade's time.
