Here is the pricing. Very well positioned, IMHO. I can see quite a few MG ZS bookings converting to Nexon EV MAX! The XZ+ trim continues to be the best VFM one. Well done, Tata Motors.

The XZ+ MAX is Rs 17.75L ex-showroom with regular charging option. This is a Rs 1.75L premium over the regular Nexon EV XZ+ and you get 30% higher range, multi-mode regen, cruise control, ESP, electronic parking brake, all 4 disc brakes, wireless phone charger, 143 PS motor, premium control knob. Definitely worth the premium imo. Well priced.
Hope other manufacturers enter the EV market ASAP. This pricing looks good considering current options but is still much, much higher than the ICE versions.

So Nexon EV's top of the line 'Max XZ+ LUX' variant (Prateek's right, that name is a mouthful), with a 7.3kW AC fast charger will undercut the base MG excite variant by 2-2.5 Lacs.

That is likely to steal some sales of the zs, unless MG has something else up their sleeves.

Fair point, but do remember that this starting price is with 3.3 kW charger option, which means that you will need 11-12 hours for slow charging at home, compared to the 8-9 hours for current Nexon EV. A more practical option will be the 7.2 kW charger which starts at INR 18.24 lac, which is about 2 lac higher than the current Nexon XZ+ - still worth it, I'd say, especially if one is looking at frequent highway travel.

Tata Motors played their cards right by jacking the prices up for regular Nexon EV by INR 75,000 over the last 5-6 months for this very reason - first thing that potential customers will look at would be the price difference between the regular Nexon and the Max variants. They've narrowed this gap down to give the impression of "worth the premium" which would not have been the case if the regular Nexon had costed INR 75,000 lesser

Couldn't agree more, also prefer the Grey roof with Intensi Teal anytime over the white roof the Teal Blue came with. Already asked th SA to share the price list as they get it and switch my booking.

Makes sense if its the primary car, but no one will wait till 0% to recharge the car. Is we charge form 30 to 100 should take about 10-11 hours max. Which as per my use case makes complete sense to me and may be many more. Plug in post office around 9 and let it charge till 8 next morning.

re: The Tata Nexon EV Max, launched at Rs. 17.74 lakh (pg 18)

Very attractive pricing, still managing to get the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux with 3.3KW for 19.5L on road in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Got in touch with my sales executive at Malik Motors, Malakpet, to move my booking from previous Nexon EV XZ+ Lux Dark Edition to the new one. He said the booking portal isn't up yet and shall do the needful as soon as it opens up. He also mentioned that he got few calls from other customers as well to move their bookings to EV Max.

Hope the wait time is cut down to something less than 2 months now. For the Nexon EV XZ+ Lux Dark Edition they quoted 12 to 16 weeks but going by what I keep reading online, it seems to generally take 6 months. It's just been a 1 month and 1 week since I booked it.

Price hits a nice sweet spot. Closer to MG in terms of features.
Probably once Tata overdelivered at launch.

Whoa! Are you sure? If this is correct then Nexon EV Max will sell like hot cakes, given that the top variant of the Max undercuts the ZS EV by almost INR 8 lac.

Yes, absolutely. A charge cycle of 25-100% should not take more than 10-11 hours but if this is the only car in the house then it would be prudent to go for the 7.2 kW charger option.

Even if they were to bundle the 7.2KW charger by default, I would have still not opted for it. Increasing the sanction load for the power line to our home is turning out to be an expensive process and would rather settle down with a standard 15A plug plus 3.3Kw charger.

Not bundling 7.2kw charger actually helps cut down on cost for buyer like me.

It isn’t. Launch is scheduled in July 2022 as per MG’s official communication.

Oh yes, absolutely! Giving both options (3.3 kW and 7.2 kW chargers) to customers is a welcome move indeed. As long as one plans charge cycles well, it should be okay.
