This is true for vehicles that support charging rates higher than its battery capacity (C>1). Like Tesla for example, a 70KWh battery supporting 250KWh charging rates can sustain this rate only upto a certain SOC usually much less than 80% SOC.
BYD E6 with 71KWh battery pack and 60KW DC fast charge support is charging at a rate lesser than 1C. The batteries can accept this charge rate till 90% SOC or even more before it starts throttling down the charging current. I regularly see my Nexon EV going at its Max charging rate of 25KW upto 90%-94% SOC after which it start throttling down.

I spotted this car charging for more than 2 hours 30 minutes outside a MG Car Showroom in Vijayawada. This was a Tata Power EZ Charger.

They were testing the car range and managed to reach Vijayawada from chennai with a single charge at Velampalli which is around 320 kms from Chennai.

BYD e6 Electric MPV that was first spotted in April this year and now, has been spied by us in an electric blue shade in Delhi-NCR.

The first few batches of this vehicle will be brought to our shores via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route that enables carmakers to import up to 2,500 units without the requirement of homologation.

Spotted this in Bangalore, today. It looked like an Ertiga/XL6 sized MPV.

The warranty is :-
3 years/1,25,000 km (whichever is earlier), battery cell warranty of 8 years/5,00,000 km (whichever is earlier), and a traction motor warranty of 8 years /1,50,000 km. That is not too bad

They say you can go from 30-80% in about 35 minutes.
That is about 36kWh in 35 minutes, I guess it comes with peak 100kW DC charging.
and how is ARAI range lower than WLTP!!! that makes no sense.

If a 7 seater comes, this may be worth it. It does seem to have enough space in the back.

Range achieved With 44 kwh battery pack of mg zs EV is around 250 to 320kms.

With a 71 kwh battery pack, I guess 450 kms to 550 kms should be easily achievable with normal driving

Vow, That came out of nowhere. If it comes as a seven-seater, it will be very tempting. With that kind of length, they should be able to accommodate at least 5+2 seats if not a proper seven-seater. 30L is not bad for such a bad car. And the warranty looks great too.

Even now, I think it should be able to take some customers away from the MG because of the space and range.

I did few searches. I couldn't find any mention of when the cars will start to be available nor the location of the showrooms in the cities they have listed.

BYD India e6 EV MPV :

The all-electric MPV will be a commercial vehicle and be available in eight cities across the country. ( Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Chennai.)

For now, it is available only as a commercial vehicle, and for an additional Rs 45,000, BYD will also provide a 7kW charger. While there are plans to offer the e6 to private buyers in the future, no concrete timeline has been announced.

The BYD India e6’s 71.7kWh battery provides 415-520km WLTC certified range
Electric motor develops 95hp and 180Nm
Comes only in a single fully loaded trim

The international e6 measures 4.69m in length – it sits halfway between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (4.39m long) and Kia Carnival (5.11m). What BYD India has confirmed is that the e6 has 580 litres of boot space.

An EV with a range of around 500km and in the price band of 25L-30L is indeed a sweet spot.

But, MG and Kona with their battery capacities of around 40kW and 250kM range are priced at 20-25L band.

I would be keen to understand how another EV is able to pull off the price of Rs. 25L-30L with almost 75% additional capacity in both range and battery capacity.

For now, the price for the given range and battery capacity sounds too good to be true.
