Just when I had high hopes for some great designs coming in courtesy of KIA - after what we saw in the Seltos/Sonet. They do this.
If this is going to be a philosophy and the traits will be followed in other segments and non EVs also in the coming years, I guess we should pick up the Seltos by the tons in the current generation.
(P.S. - Superb wheel size:body proportion in this EV though. Looks fab!)

The platform is capable of providing up to 310 miles (498 kilometers) of range; however, that’s the maximum amount of range available, and the EV6 could offer less than that.

2022 Kia EV6 specifications revealed Link

The EV6 will be offered in a variety of configurations as there are standard and long range batteries as well as rear- and all-wheel drive.

A 58 kWh standard range battery, which powers a rear-mounted motor that produces 168 hp and 350 Nm.

The all-wheel drive variant gains a second electric motor which gives the model a combined output of 232 hp and 605 Nm. This enables the EV6 to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in as little as 6.2 seconds.

Upgrading to the 77.4 kWh battery rewards buyers with longer ranges and a more powerful electric motor that develops 225 hp and 350 Nm.

The all-wheel drive variant boosts that output to 321 hp and 605 Nm. This enables it to run from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in as little as 5.2 seconds and have a range in excess of 316 miles (510 km) in the WLTP combined cycle.

Sitting at the top of the range is the EV6 GT, which is available exclusively with all-wheel drive and the long range battery. It has a combined output of 577 hp and 740 Nm. It allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in a Porsche Taycan 4S-beating 3.5 seconds.

The EV6 rides on the new E-GMP platform and features 400V and 800V charging capabilities. This enables it to go from a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes. If you’re short on time, the rear-wheel drive long range EV6 can be given 62 miles (100 km) of range in less than four and a half minutes.



In terms of size, the EV6 measures 4,680 mm long, 1,880 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.





On the safety front, there are an assortment of driver assistance systems such as Lane Following Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist and Highway Driving Assist 2.





Inside the dashboard is topped by a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch infotainment system with curved displays.

If you keep your foot planted on the accelerator, the EV6 GT should eventually hit a targeted top speed of 162 mph (260 km/h). Besides going fast, the model has a range of 252 miles (405 km) and electronic limited slip differential software that promises to deliver dynamic ride and handling characteristics.

Further details and pricing for the new Kia EV6, the South Korean brand’s first 'clean-sheet' electric car, have been revealed. It'll start at £40,895 in entry-level form, rising to £43,895 for the GT-Line and £58,295 for the range-topping, high-performance GT. Deliveries of the first two models are expected in October 2021, with the GT hitting showrooms in October 2022.

Am I the only one who feels this transition somewhat looks like Elite i20 to Current i20 transition where the former looked absolutely smashing and the current gen looks somewhat weird comparatively?

Current gen Seltos looks so much better compared to this

Kia Race the EV6 GT against a Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes-AMG GT, Porsche 911 Targa 4, Ferrari California T, and McLaren 570s in 400m drag race.

The EV6 GT doesn’t take first though, coming in second just behind the McLaren.

The overall design seems new enough. And small reminders of current design language like the disconnected C-pillar (what do we call it officially?) are retained. I like it.

2021 Kia EV6 to start at £40,895 in the UK for the entry-level with rear-wheel drive, tops out at £51,895 for the flagship GT-Line S. Deliveries will start later this year

Kia EV6 first edition reservations to start from June 3rd with a fully refundable deposit of $100.

The First Edition will be limited to 1,500 models and Kia will start delivering the EV6 in early 2022.



The EV6 First Edition model is limited to three color combinations: Urban Yellow with black seats, Glacier with dark green seats, and Steel Gray Matte with black seats. The Urban Yellow exterior color and dark green seats are exclusive to the First Edition.

First Edition models feature an augmented reality (AR) head-up display, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a sunroof, 20-inch wheels, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, dual motors with AWD, and the larger 77.4-kWh battery pack. It will also come equipped with illuminated door sills displaying the First Edition name, and a numbered interior First Edition badge.

First Edition buyers also get an extra treat for free. They get to select one of three gifts: a home charger, a public charging station credit, or an Apple iWatch.
