When the new Jaguar ad popped up in my Facebook feed, I thought it was a snippet from the Paris Olympics ceremony. Quickly went to the page to make sure it was not something i had accidentally liked or followed, then blocked and exited the page.

Oh well, one less brand in the aspirational list. Some progress there.

To be honest, I think they were thinking of a different US election result when they commissioned this ad.

The new logo has lost the Jaguar's brand aggression. Try to remember how Jeremy Clarkson used to say - It was known as the "Jaaaagg". It always had a gangster vibe to it and with the new CI guidelines its lost. Maybe not a good show for the loyal Jaaagg customers.

I'm not getting all the dismissive reactions to this rebranding. Jaguar, as we know it, has been floundering for a few years and sales are already dismal. They're clearly taking a fresh new approach, to put it mildly. We have yet to see what products they're planning to introduce, or where this new branding strategy is even going. How about we give them a chance to show us what all this is about before we start collectively digging their grave?

The new advertisement reminds me of Benetton promotional videos (that too of the 90s) and the new font of the brand gives me the vibes of a certain sanitary fitting maker.

If the target for the marketing team was to generate publicity, then they defenitly did a great job. This is the most publicity Jaguar has generated in decades. There is no such thing as negative publicity is what they say

The brand really needed a new direction - but this new logo seems quite oversimplified and out of place. They set new tagline as 'Copy nothing' and then went on to use the most generic font used by companies these days.

Their new teaser doesn't give me much hope for their new car launches either :

Please tell me F-pace and other Jaags will become cheaper in resale market after this. I am not too old to still enjoy them while they are here and my kid too young to worry about this rebrand, probably it would be relaunched 20yrs down the line.

A Para SF commando Male or Female won't drive this. Like someone said in the official instagram page comments which Jaguar is deleting constantly, Thanks God we still have Aston Martin

Jaguar is trying to pitch as a young youthful luxury than the sophisticated old school luxury it used to stand for. This is step in right direction to reinvent the brand and increase sales

Once the ‘getaway car’ of choice for the villains of old in the 1960’s.
Once the ‘club class’ car of choice for the ‘Gentlemen’ (and Cads) in the City of London.
Once the choice of Inspector Morse.
Once the preferred car of the Police in England.

Such a lovely Marque. So much History. So much grace and sheer feline ferocity and raw power in that gorgeous leaping cat icon.

A real Aristocrat (Aristo-cat!) amongst Automobiles.

And now, considering this ‘re-branding’ business, it’s all gone ‘woke’ and it is but a matter of time before all the lights go out.

I lament this deeply and no words can express the sorrow of this slow, forced, agonising death of a brilliant, evocative and classy car marque.

They really should reconsider - because at this moment they are simply throwing the baby out with the bath water…and more’s the pity.
