The documentary is interesting because all the operators involved in the scam have gotten much richer, doing good. Solar has a problem with intermittency, you don't get hot water in the monsoons, that's when you need it. Try charging an electric vehicle during a thunderstorm and tell me how it goes, outside an urban area.
Solar powered houses are quite common in Kerala, but the owners are certainly not all for saving money, it's a lifestyle choice they are happy with. |
So no plans to save the planet, leave it to those who are doing it, no need to keep repeating a false story where you are not helping anyone who is involved in saving the planet.
Everyone knows solar is intermittent, sun does not shine even at night , but there are ways to mitigate these intermittency. Solar also helps in a country like India where we can run all ACs in the morning with only solar, wind can be used during monsoons and thunderstorms.
Solar can save money too, my calculations during having a solar roof top for our apartment showed a return of 12% even when solar is useful for 8hrs in a day.
Someone intelligent understands the true potential of a product and invests in it early on and makes good money, some do not believe in it and lose money, hating somebody who made money is not a good point.
Everyone concerned about grid, did we ask the some questions here, how did Norway cope with so many electric cars? is their grid failing? are there any blackouts?
BTW, I did not share Wikipedia link as a source, I shared it here as a starter for those who want to watch.
