Ouch :Frustrati
At this stage it would be more interesting to see what lies under the hood rather than these interior shots that even their biggest fans would find difficult to praise. I am still reeling from that blue strap and those elevator buttons.
Thanks to OP and others for posting photos and videos of this car. I think this is a great effort by a dedicated set of individuals but I have my doubts if they will succeed.
The company says they are targeting the luxury fleet market but looking at the fit and finish of the prototype, I am not sure if they will be able to produce a luxury product. The seats look like they have been stitched by shade-tree cobbler, there is electrical tape and the sunroof seems to have jagged edges where the glass meets the body. This is the sixth prototype with the production version to be released in Nov-2021 apparently, so I would have expected them to get their manufacturing basics right by now.
If I am a 5-star hotel, would I not go for a Mercedes C-class (Approx. $45,000/ Rs 35L) or a Tesla Model S ($70,000/ Rs 50L)? These two vehicles have brand recognition and are bonafide luxury cars. Why should I go for an unknown brand unless it is heavily discounted?
Personally, I hope this company aims for the private owner market where people may want to make a statement by driving a green stylish car and want to be patriotic by buying Indian.

Pravaig Extinction Review, test drive
The interesting bits from Autocar's report:
- The final car will be a four-door and with a higher roof, the current car’s edgy character and style will remain.
- The final car will offer more interior room with a longer wheelbase but with a similar length.
- The final car will have a cooled cabin (current prototype does not have A/C) and also an onboard air-filtration system with a PM2.5 filter.
- The company will also offer a high-end audio system from French audio specialist firm Devialet.
- The production car will carry over the Extinction’s strict 4-seat configuration and reclinable seats. Dhawal (COO and founding member) says they are aiming for a 160-degree recline angle with a slight knees-up position; which is needed to hold a passenger in place in the event of an impact and thus pass safety regulation.
- The final car will get some cooled storage area and an airline-style fold-away tray that can take a 15.6-inch laptop. Apart from these, each passenger in the final car will get a lot of other goodies like dedicated AC vents, privacy screens, 12-inch illuminated vanity mirrors and charging facilities for phones and laptops.
- The control panel located on the roof is not likely to make it to production, it’s just the engineers having some fun.
- The Extinction has a mature ride (prototype noises not withstanding) and is tuned towards comfort, nicely rounding off bumps and potholes in a very pliant manner. Notably, it also keeps a level body and does not pitch or squat too much under hard braking and acceleration.
- They are also working on the motor’s power delivery character, keeping in mind G-forces and passenger comfort.
- The motor puts out 203hp and is powered by a 96kWh battery pack, which the company says gives the Extinction a range of just over 500km.
- The final car will have a very high ground clearance, somewhere around 200mm.
- Extinction’s body is made of aviation-grade, fibre-reinforced plastic, as will also be the production car.
- They are aiming for a very high Euro NCAP star rating.
- Pravaig is also looking at building the car with far fewer parts. Not just with an aim to reduce costs but also complexity, and thus chances for failure.
- An initial target of 2,500 units per year
They should publish pictures of their battery pack and the electric drive unit.
Great update, after all battery weight and cost are the key roadblocks to the worldwide EV roadmap.
But what happened to the car itself? No news it seems.
