2021 Skoda Enyaq power, range and charging:

Two rear-wheel-drive Enyaq variants are available at launch: the 60, which uses a 62kWh battery, produces 177bhp and has a range of 260 miles in official WLTP tests; and the 80 with an 82kWh battery, 201bhp and a 310-mile range.

A cheaper 50 model, with a 55kWh battery will follow later, as will pricier four-wheel drive 82kWh Enyaqs: the 262bhp 80X and a sporty vRS model, with 302bhp.

All Enyaq’s are capable of charging at the 50kW rate that the majority of UK rapid chargers allow, but buyers can specify faster 100kW (for the 60 model) and 125kW (for the 80) maximum charging rates, with the latter able to get the battery from 10-80% in 40 minutes.

Alternatively, if you charge at home using a 7kW wallbox, the same task takes six to eight hours, depending on battery size

Celebrating 125 years:
Quote:
One special version of the ENYAQ iV that will be available in a limited series is the Founders Edition, which is already available for pre-order. With this version, which customers will receive in the first quarter of 2021, ŠKODA is celebrating 125 years of history. The total production will be just 1,895 units, harking back to the year when the Czech carmaker was founded. Each Founders Edition car will have an edition number displayed on an elegant plaque on the steering wheel.
Quote:
Customers can order the extensively equipped Founders Edition for the ENYAQ iV 60 and ENYAQ iV 80 versions. Standard features include 21” Aquarius alloys, and there are two metallic finishes to choose from: Black Magic and Arctic Silver. The LED-illuminated Crystal Face radiator grille, framed in gloss black rails like the windows, comes as standard. The interior is fitted out in the ecoSuite Design Selection and the seats are upholstered in cognac-brown leather. The colour is achieved by treating the hide with sustainable olive leaf extracts. The other option is black leather upholstery with cognac-brown contrasting elements.
Quote:
The boot also has a false floor, so small items are kept tightly in place and won’t move around. Also available is an easy-to-use net solution that ensures larger items in the boot are properly secured and safe. The MEB platform design has allowed room for two large storage compartments. The 6.2 litre Jumbo Box under the centre armrest can hold lots of essential items, and there’s another 11.4 litres of storage space under the centre console.

The ŠKODA ENYAQ iV has a lot of safety features, including emergency braking in the presence of oncoming cars when turning left, warnings about possible collisions with cyclists or cars when opening a door, active assistance for avoiding obstacles, and nine airbags.

Quote:
Of course, the charging speed depends on the method used and the capacity of your ENYAQ iV’s battery. The largest battery with a nominal capacity of 82 kWh can be charged from 5% to 80% in just 38 minutes. The home wallbox offers an output of almost 11 kW, meaning that the ENYAQ iV will reach a full charge in six to eight hours, depending on battery size.

Re: Skoda launches new iV sub-brand for electric vehicles

This is one beautiful looking EV. The front to me still seems odd, however with the Leds on the front grill, that is something new. Great battery options and range.
As per the launch event , the vehicle will be available only next year but sales starts today in Norway.
Cant wait for Bjørn Nyland to get his hands on this and do his testing.
With a starting price of 35,000/- Euro if this comes to India as a import this will be way out of my league. Will need to stick to the MG ZS EV.

So due to the removal of the gear handle most EV cars have this upper deck and lower deck space. Once again the lower deck is hard to get from looking at the video.

All the best Skoda and hope to see a many Enyaq iV on the India roads in the years to come.

Re: Skoda launches new iV sub-brand for electric vehicles

It is a beautiful car but I don't like the oversized grill. It is funny that even though an EV doesn't need grill in the front, car designers are reluctant to let it go and make it a fake grill by lacing it with LEDs etc. EV with no grill would be a big statement metaphorically.

I believe battery packs & Air conditioning still need cooling via the radiator(usually placed behind the grilles). Agreed the heat from these battery powered vehicles may not be comparable to Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) nevertheless I believe it is still required or Am I missing something here ?

Since the Tesla cars and even Kona doesn't have a conventional grill, I tend to believe that the need to cool down is not as in the IC engine powered cars. Even if there is a need for some kind of vents, it could be designed differently so that the car is immediately recognizable as an EV. Grill is a baggage from the IC era.

Re: Skoda launches new iV sub-brand for electric vehicles

Good-looking car, I think, except perhaps the rear 3/4 angle from where it looks like a van. But I guess it's a matter of getting used to the looks. Interior is quite minimalistic. Claimed range is good. With a starting price of €35,000 I think the Enyaq is going to be a formidable competitor for parent VW's ID.3, which starts at around the same price range, but is a size smaller.

The Enyaq iV is perhaps the angriest looking electric car! And i mean it in a good way!

Like all Skoda designs, I am sure you would start liking it when you see it in person.

No more running, cycling behind a polluted car and bikes.

Having ICE bikes ahead of you filming for a 20-40K runs and damaging the runners & cyclists lungs should be avoided.

Re: Skoda Enyaq iV Electric SUV unveiled

This is one thing I love about Skoda/ VAG. The design of this SUV is so beautiful. Some creases could have been avoided, especially the ones on the front bumper. But it looks like a costlier Beemer.
Will be interesting to see the uptake if launched in India, especially considering their reputation in India.

the coolant I think is still air cooled and it cools the battery pack and motor gear assembly
