Re: Car brands are marketing EVs on performance, and not just zero-emissions Well, in my opinion, like GTO said, earlier it was a different ball game to meet just the norms and conditions putforth by the government.
But to sell in real world, maybe in the beginning it was all to just make an EV as a passenger car for a non-enthusiast driver. However, now it’s a different ball-game. Enthusiasts are looking at EV as an alternative to ICE vehicles. What actually brings them to EV?
Sound? No!
Looks? Yes!
Performance? Yes - a big Yes!
That is why we are seeing Nexon EV having a healthy torque and bhp figures to attract not only “not so interested” performance oriented guys but also to appeal for us, the enthusiasts! Earlier, Tata did come out with their fleet of EV’s with Tigor but it never sold because of its abismal performance and Logan going to serve cab fleet more. So they’d to distinguish it by giving it more muscle inside the battery.
Hope, EV’s do make up for ICE loss for enthusiasts. |
