BYD to introduce 2 electric vehicles, T3 MPV and T3 Minivan in India BYD (Build Your Dreams) India, a subsidiary of BYD Group, China, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) maker, has entered India’s pure electric van segment with the introduction of two new pure EVs – T3 pure electric passenger MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) and T3 pure electric commercial logistics Minivan. - Supports both AC & DC charging
- Uses proprietary battery technology
- Takes 90 minutes to fully charge using DC charging, however time required for AC charging is not mentioned
- Comes with a range of 300 kilometers
- Vehicles are equipped with features like keyless entry, push button start, bluetooth sound system, etc
- Also equipped with features like ABS, EBD, BOS(Brake Override System), and regenerative braking etc
- BYD India is seeking local partners for the series production
- BYD India was setup in 2007, has two factories with 1,40,000 square meters covered, with a cumulative investment of ₹1,080 crore. Businesses covered included mobile components, solar panels, electric forklifts, e-buses, and chargers etc
- BYD India claims that it commands 52% market share in e-buses operated in India
