So, it is indeed longer than XUV300. Black color looks good. Rear still looks ugly like XUV300.
Why the hell are there no fog lamps?
It seems like it will be the next omission trend going forward, first Venue facelift and now this.
Also, never seen a manufacturer state range in MIDC. Someone know what it means?

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

Why can't we have a normal looking car? What's the need of all these accents and different colours, a green number plate is more than enough for differentiation, give us a single tone car, niggle free experience and we would be happy, however good the car is I wouldn't buy it with these golden colours.

You look at Pratap Bose's work at TATA where we got so many good looking cars, and you see this "mini copper"

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

Such a hideous-looking car. Who in their right mind would approve of a blue and copper colour combination? Why do they have to try to differentiate EVs at all? Decades of design experience is now being thrown into the drain in the name of creating something futuristic.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

To hell with all the "Phorein Gadis" (foreign cars). I am really liking the way the Indian brands are taking the e-fication battle to the global brands. When the auto industry developed since the late 80's. and early 90's global car manufactures were latest 2 - 3 decades ahead with the tech, process and sales strategies.
Electrification has sort of taken the major advantage the Indian brands have missed.
Its like the Indian IT today, engineering in India is max tops a year or so behind others. In the last two decades or so the process and sales knowledge has been well learnt, understood even experimented well by both TATA and Mahindra (Maruti somehow is an Indian selling brand to me there is still a lot of Suzuki, Big T etc behind the tech and manufacturing).
The numbers don't lie.
We need to see how M&M will pull off the supply, power grid and medium term onwership experience (long term, no one knows). Innovation starts small, get proven and then scaled up and scaled wide. If this runs away to be a success, then a XUV 800 on the 700 platform is not more than 2 years away.
The Govt. is doing a China to China. Walling in local brands from foreign onslaught. Especially in battery tech and electronics, that will ensure some growth and maturing time for the local manufactures. That will be more good than bad. We surely don't want 0 star, flimsy China cars flooding the e-car market. That is surely not choice for the customers. It better to have less choice than having bad multiple choices.
Let's hope consumer experience takes priority over just until economics, then we will not only sell more 400, nexons etc, but also even establish export opportunities.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

What's the point of the unveil if they can't even announce the price for another 6 months? Everything points to me that they don't have a fully engineered product. They are just making an empty announcement to take some lime light away from the Chinese onslaught that is on the horizon. Mahindra is a laggard when it comes to EVs.

What a joke this is! Bookings to commence in 2023. Production begins in 2024. Will be delivered to your graveyard, on time Mahindra should stop selling cars and try standup comedy!

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

The Black body color with Orange roof is giving me a Nissan Kicks vibe. Anyone else feel the same. Mahindra is definitely testing the waters with its first proper EV in the market to go up against established names like Nexon EV Max and ZS EV. This will prepare them for the next round of futuristic EVs which they have already started working on to be launched from 2023-24 cycle. Good for buyers to have options. The elephant(s) in the room though are the launch date, price and overall waiting period; the last especially for which Mahindra is notorious to say the least.

This despite the presence of Pratap Bose. Those copper accents remind me of a Crompton ceiling fan and a Havells geyser.

No panoramic sunroof
No 360 degree camera
No clarity on ventilated seats, ADAS and other features
No indication on pricing

Disappointed

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

I could only see myself having this car in black, it's the only colour the copper accents work it. It looks unbelievably gaudy in that bright blue IMHO.

Also, can we talk about the lack of features? None of the cars have foglights or climate control, and they still use the same basic infotainment screen and gauge cluster that the Tivoli gets. I doubt they have done anything to fix the crappy sound quality either.

Besides the class-leading powertrain and boot space, Mahindra hasn't done anything to address the other shortcomings of the car. This completely kills my expectations for the XUV3OO refresh.

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

It seems purchasing a new car has become mockery of our current existence. I have no idea why Mahindra even needed to launch this car when it is clearly evident that they won't be able to deliver even a single unit up until next six months or so. So in the future may be we have to book a car before we are even born, so that, we can have a car by the time we learn how to drive or maybe qualify to sit in one of those autonomous cars

Re: Mahindra XUV400 Electric to get 350 - 400 km range

Everything is good about the car- dimensions, exteriors (subjective), specs, range, almost everything.

But I just have one question- Why that interior? Just why?

For God's sake, that interior looks something from 2012, and the car's supposed to go on production in 2024, 12 years and the same interiors. Is it really going to dethrone the Nexon EV? I doubt it.
