Re: The Tesla Model 3, a $35,000 sedan. EDIT: Specs revealed & deliveries begin

Thousands Of Teslas Are Parked Across The U.S. - What is the truth?

Elon Musk claims the company doesn’t have access to enough car haulers to fulfill all deliveries by the dates it has promised, but Guy Young from The Auto Haulers Association of America says he is unaware of any shortage of car haulers and says that there are no other car manufacturers in the U.S. struggling to ship new vehicles.

Quote:
have uncovered thousands of vehicles mysteriously parked at facilities across the United States, including Washington, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

Armed with drones, the group has captured numerous images of what they claim is proof that Tesla isn’t being entirely truthful with its sales and delivery figures.

Tesla, at any point of time has thousands of vehicles in transit, especially since the production of Model 3 ramping up. Here are some official numbers from Tesla at the end of each quarter that are in transit in 2018.

Q1, 2018: ~6,000
Q2, 2018: ~15,000
Q3, 2018: ~12,000

For each quarter, Tesla reports production, deliveries and the cars that are in transit. Tesla does not have dealerships and sell through their own stores. Traditional companies have dealerships who maintain inventory lots on their own.

Pretty much all the dealers in the USA are pissed that Tesla is not using a dealer model. The auto magazines are pissed as well because they're not spending anything on advertising(in their mags). At the same time traditional manufacturers are spending millions advertising, and using traditional models.

It is very hard for outsiders to see viewpoints or articles that shine a positive light from people who benefit or live based on traditional models.

To get an idea of real numbers look at the vin number of a new M3 parked in the lot. Mine was 10k these days it's close to 100k.

To get an idea of the car, talk to a owner. What owner of a $60k car would volunteer their time for their car manufacturer?

Re: The Tesla Model 3, a $35,000 sedan. EDIT: Specs revealed & deliveries begin

Tesla Model 3 achieves the lowest probability of injury of any vehicle ever tested by NHTSA. Model S and Model X were 1 and 2 in this list earlier, ahead of all other cars tested by NHTSA since 2011.

NHTSA recently released their crash test ratings. Model 3 achieved 5 star rating in overall and each sub-category.

Tesla Now Outsells Jaguar Globally, Model 3 Outsold Jag In Q3.

Quote:
During the first nine months of 2018, Tesla delivered over 154,000 electric cars, while Jaguar checked in at 136,000 (ICE) with a minor (tiny…like really tiny) share of all-electric.

Tesla sales include over 82,400 Model 3. Tesla Model 3 sales increased enough to be currently higher than the entire Jaguar brand globally (55,840 vs 41,940 in Q3).

Is Tesla Fabricating Data To Make Its Model 3 Appear Safest? - NHTSA clarifies it does not distinguish safety performance beyond a 5 Star rating

NHTSA :

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issues statement about New Car Assessment Program’s highest rating

Quote:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) – known as the 5-Star Safety Ratings Program – provides consumers with information about the crash protection and rollover safety of new vehicles beyond what is required by Federal law. NCAP conducts a total of three crash tests on new vehicles: one frontal and two side crash tests, as well as a rollover resistance assessment – a driving maneuver test that assesses a vehicle’s susceptibility to tipping up and a measurement of how top-heavy a vehicle is. Results from these three crash tests and the rollover resistance assessments are weighted and combined into an overall safety rating. A 5-star rating is the highest safety rating a vehicle can achieve. NHTSA does not distinguish safety performance beyond that rating, thus there is no “safest” vehicle among those vehicles achieving 5-star ratings.

Tesla's $ 35000 base variant will not come in 2018, launches a new $45,000 Model 3 as tax break is about to fade

Quote:
Although Tesla has promised a base-level version of the Model 3 priced at $35,000, so far the company has produced only higher-cost versions starting at about $49,000. Tesla has said it will not manufacture the base-level version of the Model 3 this year.

Re: The Tesla Model 3, a $35,000 sedan. EDIT: Specs revealed & deliveries begin

Tesla further delays the $35000 Model 3 Variant.

Region Asia-Pacific (APAC) can expect the Model 3 in Q2 - 2019.

Musk:
Quote:
We may or may not deliver cars in APAC in Q1, but certainly in Q2. It will be kind of borderline as for whether we can deliver in APAC by the end of Q1. So I can’t say for certain, they’re definitely in Europe, and then definitely in APAC in Q2

Re: The Tesla Model 3, a $35,000 sedan. EDIT: Specs revealed & deliveries begin

Tesla Model 3 is reported to show some flaws in winter.

Quote:
Model 3 owners having issues with their door handles, windows, and charge ports over the last few days.

The door handles of the Model 3 are embedded inside the door and you need to press on one side for it to pop out and pull on it.

Once you pull, the window slides down slightly and enables you to open the door.

With the cold, several owners are reporting that the door handles are extremely hard to pop out and when they do, the window doesn’t always come down.
