5mm blue LED - Rs: 0.60 per piece
great job. Can you post some pictures of the LED working from little distance, say 1-2 feet. Right now the picture is a close-up

Also, i am curious to know how did you pay for the Rs.0.60 5mm LED? Did you have difficulty in getting change?

i ll post more pics tonight. Regarding the Rs:0.60, SORRY that was an error caused by my absent mindedness, the 5mm LEDs cost Rs: 1.50 per piece.

Here are a few links to get different LED lightings for automobiles - no intention to hijack this thread - just to help fellow diy'rs

I am no where associated by this website but thought would help all those DIY'rs looking for fancy lighting

Here are some night shots:

The 8mm LED:

Comparison of 8mm LED(driver side) with two 5mm LEDs(passenger side):

Since the 5mm LEDs were brighter, i joined three 5mm LEDs in the holder:

5mm LEDs in action: (they are really bright):

unlike the bulbs we have, these are projector LED's . dont expect them the light up the reflectors much. they'll light up only a small area, just like an HID

i just tried and stuffed the 6 legs (3 anodes & 3 cathodes) into the holes of the holder.

Just now finished assembling the lamp(same three 5mm LED setup) for the passenger side.

bbs you sure have some time at your disposal buddy. Nice DIY and my compliments to you.
Also I never knew that a Win OS install infact gave you so much time to do up this. Whats your system config like ? 486 .

BBS: did you use 3 470E resistors ( 1 each per LED) or just one for all of them ?

My comp is just an old P4, takes about 25 to 30 mins for installation.

Nice DIY - Lemme also try to change the parking lights in my swift (although the LEDs would be White not Blue)
Why did you settle for resistors of this rating - (I mean what were the calculations behind that)
