Eyelids - DIY - Very Easy

Hey Guys,

Just finished installing body coloured eyelids on my Elantra.

This is the plastic file cover from which i cut the shapes.

This is without the eyelids.

This is with the eyelids...looks so aggressive!! The shape of the grille helps!!

I got the body coloured painting done from the dealer workshop (for free!!) as this colour (Charming Grey) is not readily available elsewhere.

The car looks good, but will the plastic lids be able to withstand the headlights heat? They don't look like the normal eyelid plastic.

What did you use to fasten the plastics to the headlights?

Hey vid it looks good. Hope the plastic can take the heat as moral says, nice idea though. I hope the painter had used plastic primer as basecoat or else the paint might peel off.

@ Mag: I used normal double sided tape (3M).

@vid: I used the thickest plastic sheet i could find at the local stationary store (1mm thick).

The double side tape will melt easily and will be a difficult proposition to clean it. The 1mm plastic also may not last long.

Try out and see if it starts to melt or deform before using it for long duration. Best bet is to remove them at night.

Very innovative stuff and perfect design .
Though i'm not sure if it will last long with double side sticker.
