(sorry if I am getting fancy) but that will be one hell of a feature on ecosport.
That's already been done on the Old EcoSport by Idumbakumar. Possible for New EcoSport with sync 3 but the camera modules are not available in India. I'll do this mod as well someday!

Awesome mods, Jithin! Love your adventurism!

Quick question--I have a week old S at home---have not found time to read the manual yet. Does this version also have the feature of the fog lamp lighting up when turning the steering towards one side (when the headlamps are on, of course)?

Edit: How come your car has the speedo in mph and kmph?

I'd like to add my insights here of my Titanium AT 2020, the increase/ decrease in speed is by 1 kmph with the press of the set+ and set- buttons. Not sure about the manual transmission setup though.
Thanks Raiuday! Did you try long pressing the + or - button? For reducing speed it does reduce by 10km/h and the engine braking is felt

Thanks vnabhi! Yes for S variant, cornering lamp will work with steering input, however it's not a factory enabled feature. We need to enable via forscan

Man, you are on Fire with all the Mods. You are seriously challenging Ford India with all the Very Needed mods. I hope Ford gets a hint and incorporates these in the newer variants. I fail to understand why they would delete features.

Just the excitement of these mods is giving me the itch to upgrade from my Figo to the Ecosport.

Fantastic modifications Jithin, the amount of technical DIY that you have done in your Ecosports is just mind boggling. I have thought about these modifications but didn’t have the courage to go through at all. Kudos to you for your enthusiasm and perseverance in doing these things.

Now, looking at the changes, even I am tempted to try some things just to give my old BAAHON a fresh outlook. Thanks for the brilliant thread,

Regards.

Thanks Mash! I hope Ford India notices this and starts taking risks in our market. It's a sad plight that despite being for 20+ years in India and a track record for safety and performance, they have only 2% market share. They don't have much to lose as Ford has a wide product range across the globe and they need to tweak it to Indian conditions. Plus they need to give what the market is asking for and not be penny pinching. They can make up for the CAPEX by playing the volumes game which is Hyundai and Maruti's strength. That's it and people will surely go for their cars

Thank you Abhi! I do read your travelogues with BAAHON and I have that slight bit of envy that you live in close proximity to the Himalayas. BAAHON definitely would be happy after these mods. Wishing you and BAAHON more blissful and safe miles

Initially even I never had the courage to do it. At the end of the day, humans are the one who make cars and why not give it a shot. And there's always a solution to a problem

This below post might help you understand an overview about ForScan

Website to download:https://forscan.org

A short introduction to Forscan: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=O21QhyXnLRQIn

In simple terms, Forscan is a Windows based application which helps to change the manufacture module configuration.

Now what is Module configuration?

Module configuration

Each module in the car e.g. Information Panel control (IPC), Body Control module (BCM), Powertrain Control Module(PCM), Anti-lock Brake (ABS), has a set of configurations.

When the ignition is turned ON, each module will read the configuration and starts to function based on it e.g. the rear view camera is a features which comes only on higher variants – Titanium +. The Body Control module uses the same hardware in all the variants, but it is disabled in configuration.

The manufacturer uses these configuration to enable / disable features based on the variants. In addition, these configurations will help the module to choose which protocols are used to communicate with other modules. Most of the protocols used are HS and MS can.

The main features of Forscan:
Detect vehicle on-board network configuration
Read and reset Diagnostic Trouble Codes from all modules
Reading of modules' sensors' data
Run test diagnostic procedures
Run service procedures

Sure we can connect over email, because you need to complete 25 posts to send a direct message to a member in the forum. I'll send you an email soon when time permits.

First of all, hats off for this fantastic thread. I hope Ford India takes note of posts like these and enable more features in their cars, rather than going the other way. Their cars are very potent , let down by poor strategy and marketing.

As a Freestyle owner with majority of car running on highways, this is indeed very much tempting. Noob question - How do you run FORScan ( using a dedicated USB - OBD2 cable or wireless adapter). I have a cheap Chinese ELM327 BT adapter with me. Is there any chance of bricking the car software ?

Wow, amazing mod!! The navigation shows up for Android Auto? I already have Sync 3.4 from Cyanlabs.

2. I believe 10km/h is way too much gap and it can lead to sudden acceleration as you felt. This can cause serious issues when car upfront suddenly apply brakes on highway. I own a Duster AWD with Cruise Control and have felt that punch but Duster offers 2km/h increase with every press of a button and that helps in keeping it under control. Not sure what other vehicles with same functionality offer. Maybe others can shed some light on it.
A small correction. I drove for about 500kms today and tried the cruise control again and as you said the speed increases or decreases +/- 1 or 2 km/h . The speed limiter can be set in increments and decrements of 10km/h on long pressing +/- button. Sorry for the confusion

Thank you so much!Go for OBD linkex as it offers faster connection. Ford India needs to wake up and smell the coffee else others will reap the seeds.

Yeah, it does on the bigger 4" cluster. The old 2" cluster will show only the Compass. You will need a 4"cluster for the navigation to work in the MID

The steps to enable cruise control are the same as my car except for PCM.
Really curious if it can be done in Figo as well since I own a Dec 2015 Tdci titanium. As the feature wasnt available even in top end model Titanium+ so would it be simple plug and play like yours in ecosport or would I really need lot of other modifications too. I meant the hardware part, do understand that pcm,bcm etc. would need to be modified.

This mod has really made me situp and read, would need to source the 8pin harness n switch first as suggested by you. Let me arrange that first and then would ping you for next steps. Btw searching with the switch part number didn't throw up that switch on boodmo.
