It is easy to hardwire. Nothing big and dangerous. You can do it yourself. I too was apprehensive initially but I got the courage after I read BHPian Arun's thread. You can go through my dashcam installation thread (search in the DIY section for "MINI 0806").

As you using power from the Fuse box through a fuse tap cable with fuses in the circuit to protect the car, no issues on warranty should be arising and don't worry Maruti technicians don't have that patience to check fuse boxes unless you have reported any electrical related malfunction where they need to dig deeper. I have used power from my Swift's fuse box to install the dashcam and Auto dimming IRVM when my car was under warranty. No issues till date.

Thanks Anurag. I have checked through your thread too, I am a little less apprehensive now. I was more worried about inadvertently damaging A-pillar cover and possible rattling post installation etc.

I have auto-dimming IRVM, can we tap power from this? any idea?. If that is possible then a lot of wiring would be saved; I hope the camera will be a negligible load.
