Re: DIY Install: LED cabin lights for the Maruti Swift

Swapping to LED's on the Rear registration lights

Simple Process:
  1. Open the boot lid; open the black cover by pulling the plastic clips;
  2. There are 6 of them holding the cover;
  3. Pull the connectors powering the bulbs by pressing down on the tab located on the top;
  4. Hold the bulb holder and rotate it anti-clockwise (12-10 O' clock position) to free them from the boot lid;
  5. Pull out the OEM T10's and replace them with the Osram T10 LED's.
  6. Refit the holder and boot lid cover.
  7. We are Done!

Hey, IMO it will not fit in the interior lamp casing. 16 SMD is more than sufficient.

The light throw at night is amazing, the entire cabin is lit up in a soft bluish-white light; but not jarringly so.
Sirji,

Can you kindly shed the light on how the bigger LED was connected in parallel ? Was it done at authorized service center or was it a DIY ?

How is the light fixed onto the frame ? Dual duct tape ?

Is the light connected to internal dome switch ?

And the model of the light : Is it 24 SMD or 16 SMD ?

Any additional photos of the setup will be really helpful

'Twas a DIY. I connected it in parallel to the cabin light.

I made a small pin hole in the headliner and passed the wire through it. The tension was enough to hold the light in place.

I only have more pics of the bulb and illumination; no installation pics.
And, I can't get you more pics either, I sold the car.

Re: DIY Install: LED cabin lights for the Maruti Swift

A bit OT :

Did anyone do a DIY for installing a BOOT LIGHT in FIRST GEN SWIFT VXI ?

Not sure about th electrical wiring issues, was planning to do something in Dasara holidays. Need to order parts.

Planning it in such a way that when the boot lid is open, the LED light will glow within the boot.

Appreciate your guidance
