So the iBus2 has managed to find a buyer! The bus looks really good - if only AL offers more FBVs. This design looks really good.

In Kochi, AIMS has a 1612 based Mobile Dental Clinic - the bus is built by ACGL.

Hinduja Hospital is run by the Hinduja Group who also own Ashok Leyland. So, technically AL didn't find a buyer, but has used the parent company to showcase a good design.

Oh! I never noticed that co-incidence

Even then, when the product is being used by a hospital, other might take an inspiration.

MAN taking over the Indian operations from the JV is likely to result in the acceleration of new launches. MAN and Scania now have fully owned subsidies in India which potentially allows the brands to share engineering resources, vendor management and other functions.

I bus will never find a buyer as this is not sales product. Its only concept product about the Mobile clinic.

Like ibus 1 concpet (having business and economy class travel in a same bus) this has come out with a concept of Mobile clinic.
As these both are concepts its been tagged as "i" in AL's language.

Re: The Indian Bus Scene (Discuss new launches and market info here)

TML launches the new Starbus models in Cochin. The grand launch function was held at LeMeridien yesterday. There was a large participation from across central & south Kerala. The new models include;

1. LPO1512 57seater FB Marcopolo Stage Carriage bus.
Advance move by TML to address the demands of local public transport segment well before Bus code enforcement. This bus was launched last month in TN. I feel, this model would be more successful in North Indian markets as down south, customers prefer more customization in terms of design, features, colours & anything!

2. Starbus 407 12 seater - Deluxe / Standard
3. Starbus A/c 12 seater based on LP407 (twin tyre)...Traveller beware!
4. Starbus Ultra - 5200mm wheelbase, 46seater on Y1 platform.

And among them was displayed the new DIVO 285HP variant and a LPO1512 12M chassis with Weveller Suspension for Tourist & Mofussil application.
Meanwhile, i appreciate TML for improving the "steering wheel" design. The new one is a slightly enlarged & thicker version of 709 type steering wheel. This can be found in the BS4 buses supplied to BMTC.

The 'O' in LPO indicates that I guess? Normal Tata chassis don't have front overhangs like AL's.

Guess thats a typing mistake. AFAIK only the 16xx chassis are available as 12M.

'O' only indicates Overhang. 1512 Chassis is available with Overhang - that is used by various Transport Companies, especially for city operations. Even the TATA buses operated by JnNURM are 1512s with FOH (except the buses bought under JnNURM).

Oh, I remember. The old DTC CNG buses had doors in front of the front axle.

You are right, till date only 16xx series was avaliable in 12M versions. Meanwhile, I mentioned so, as was told by the representatives there at the function. But i have re-checked it and understand that its a 10.7M one aimed at Viking222WB. Sorry for the confusion!
