@julupani, do you think it's as bad as Gio? I don't think so. Anyway looks are subjective.

No offence, but what role does TVS play here?

PS: I find this vehicle on the lines of APE truk.

re: The Light and Small Commercial Vehicle Thread

@amtak: TVS are the dealers of AL HCVs, and they do a shoddy job at that - refer raj_5004's bus threads.

@Leymama: Thanks for that pic. Looks really up-market.

@prram: I heard it will be priced around 4L. Not sure whether it's OTR price, or ex-showroom

@silversteed, thank you for clarifying. I think that would be South India region (Chennai/BLR/TVM) specific?

@Leymama, great picture. thanks!

What is Eicher-Volvo doing? why are they keeping quite on this segment?

I guess you are joking. GIO is ugly, Dost isn't that bad. It does look a bit out of proportion, but I guess thats mainly due to the photo angle. Another photo posted on the net (I am sorry, I don't have the link now) gives a better view of the vehicle. It does look decent - far better than Gio.

Any ways, looks are very personal.

TVS is NOT involved in the sales of the new AL-Nissan LCV Range. Leyland is appointing new dealers for the LCVs. They had issued an ad calling for dealers in almost all the major towns in Kerala - they are betting big for sure!

re: The Light and Small Commercial Vehicle Thread

Acc to me at least this looks much much worse then the Mahindra Gio. But as has already been mentioned looks are subjective.

Though overall I think because of the lack of competition, the Dost will be able to rack up decent numbers. But one thing that is going to be important, is that 3cyl engine BS4 rated??

800cc 3 Cylinder, Crdi, 55BHP engine. And they are rumored to be making a Nano Rival with the partnership.

That could be a interesting sub plot

Nice news. Does the rumour have any authentic source? ( )

Every Bajaj, Nissan and AL wants to make a Nano clone. Errr.. did not Nissan tie up with Renault and Mahindras for the grate Nano rival?

Re: The Light and Small Commercial Vehicle Thread

Bit late! Lets see how it fares. Also what are the specs of Dost.

Like all AL, its a bad design just made in haste to jump into competition. I bet alloys will not be available in the actual vehicle.

That's pretty ugly allright. What was AL thinking? Is it so hard to design a decent looking vehicle? Hope it's load hauling capabilities cover up for it's fugly design.

Re: The Light and Small Commercial Vehicle Thread

Why this had to be such a Ugly design.

Seems they developed a normal cab forward design, then somebody told them Semi Cab Forward design gets better acceptance in the market, so they pasted a TUB with Feviquick to make this a SFC design.

BTW are the design engineers ex-mahindra employees in any way???
