Not exactly in Syllabus, but then it was told tous by our Prof. But we did had one subject on Motor vehicle rules (including section on busses and trucks).

These are taken by the same group who have taken 15 numbers of TML 3118 in April'10 and now they have come back to AL for their next round.
They have more than 150 vehicles plying all around.

Spotted this 1612C on Mysore Road, doing an easy 70 kph with a full load of cement bags. This had the cab design from the EX series.

It's of 2xxx Series, 1612C are of 6 wheels and lower capacity.

Wrong again, this is an extremely rare, Tata 3118C EX, with a factory built load body. Really nice catch, as this model is probably the rarest of TML truck models in India. Hopefully the guy even opted for an AC cabin.

Don't think so, the passenger side window is rolled down.

This load is certainly below 25 tonnes. If not the lift axle would not be in the raised position

AC as an option is available on the EX models, though may not be the case with the 3118. As I dont think that engine has an pulley for running an AC compressor. But the 230hp models like the 2523 or 4923 definitely get factory fit AC as an option.

Also, having the window rolled down, is not necessarily mean the lack of an AC.

Yes, the present load is definitely below 25tonned GVW, otherwise the lift axle would automatically be lowered.

Which is the model in multi axle rigids has the 230HP engine.

wow..thats a funny find Ashley..even 2214 find it difficult to pull in with a 114ps engine..so what about a tusker turbo?

I doubt that it is actually a 2214, may be its just that the panel or may be even just the badge of the 2214 has been used.

Any way I am curious what are the independent max axle loads in a 22ton GVW truck, or does the 22 signify something else??

But still 2214 was a hot seller for AL till Sep'09.

No its only a badge used on a 3516

The fresh order includes 200 numbers of car carriers on the 'U-3518', 12 units of 'U-4923' truck and 50 units of company's 12-meter buses .
The cumulative value of the order is pegged at over Rs 172 crore, the company said in a statement.
These requirements come on the heels of an order for 600 vehicles that VRL had placed a month ago for 500 nos. of 3123 Multi-axle vehicles and 100 12-meter buses. Cumulatively, these orders for 862 vehicles are worth in excess of[FONT=252f2d92545cbfb70be7e7d8#0c0f00] Rs. [/FONT]172 crores.
