TATA trucks of the Akash squadron with IAF.
These seem like standard 4018 tractors, with some specialised trailers attached. Reminds me of some Volvo FH12 tractors I spotted being used by the navy to carry missiles for use on ships.

The U-Truck platform form AL is not in the same league as the Prima. It is just that they have made changes to the front end of the existing traditional AL vehicles, with minor improvements. This can be confirmed by the pricing of the U-Truck range. Also TML is also going to completely revamp their traditional trucks lineup sometimes early next year. |
U Truck from AL is their latest platform in the M & HCV segment, where "U" stands for
"YOU" the customer - meaning the product is customer centric
"UNIVERSAL" - Enough standardisation has gone in
"UNIQUE" - Each truck can be unique, yet with common BoM
"ULTIMATE" - Need I say more
Here is a brand new TATA, saw on a recent road trip. Absolutely loved it. That drop down axle is very complex mechanism (to me at least).
Are Scania Trucks also used in Military. Do any one have the pictures.
Why did TATA blind fold their trucks? atleast why did they dummied the headlamp points on the front and have put it on bumper. Can anyone throw some light on this please. I am assuming it could be because of the height of lamp which might not give proper road visibility to the driver.
those tata new style trucks look so sleek, the red ones which are carrying other trucks on the trailers.
If I remember correctly, this was a trial by TML along with Siddhi Vinayak Transport, presently the largest Prima Operator, for a method to transport new Prima trucks to their destinations from Jamshedpur. Then the same trailors were then tried out with other vehicles as well. In a trial run on 4028S Prima carried 3 more 4028S tractors on the trailer and covered the distance of Jamshedpur to Bombay in 2 and half days. Dont know whether Siddhi Vinayak is now using this method regularly.
Thanks Ashley, have been searching for these pics for quite some time now.
spotted this 25KL HP fuel tanker.

That was the coolest picture I've seen so far. Congrats Ashley.
Awesomeclap:.
I am astonished and impressed with the way the flat bed is constructed to accomodate three cabins and with proper way of arrangement. The trucks are so beautiful and sophisticated that I feel down the years truck driving would be a pleasure to do. I will become a trucker then lol:
My first thought was "heck!!! Tata trucks transported on a Volvo truck??"
Then I had a closer look.
@chanu - as per MV act, that is the permissible hight for HCV head lights. But TATAs have provided for modifications by customers.
I have seen many volvo tractors operated by oil companies though largely I have seen them transporting aviation fuel. Also most of them that I spotted were in impeccable condition, unlike the one pictured here.
^^^ It's a Govt owned vehicle, so... I'd say it's impeccable, going by the way most govt vehicles are maintained
