In Delhi, Marcopolos rule the roads and AL is rare to be seen with only 32 buses in DTC's fleet (this figure is more than a month old). Moreover, AC Cherry Marcopolos now don jet Black tints.

Dude, are you in India??????

TATA manufactures rear engine (RE) bus chassis as well as fully built buses. There are over 2000 Tata Marcopolo RE AC low-floor buses plying in the NCR itself. TM offers LPO1618 RE bus chassis with manual and auto transmission, as chassis. Also on offer is the LPO1624 RE Tata Hispano Globus intercity coach.

AL already had launched its Panther series of RE chassis, and all the AL AC low-floor buses supplied to DTC and the non-AC low-floor buses supplied to RSRTC, KSRTC (kerala) are built on the Panther chassis. There are a few private operators who use buses with third-party built bodies over the Panther chassis for intercty operations too.

Re: Rear Engine Buses

What happened to all the rear engine buses? I remember seeing rear engine buses by Tata, AL, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Scania. I know Scania exited from Indian bus market. But what happened to rear engine buses and chassis from all other manufacturers?
