Mercedes 2635 6x2, the Rollong Hotel in Abu

Like always, I always stop and try to peek into every interesting vehcile I come across. I have seen this bus couple of times before, it comes to Abu every year to visit Delwara Temples. but this time I had a chance to stop and click some images. Too bad the driver was too tired, I thought not to disturb him from his well deserved sleep.

This particular example is owned by Rotel Tours, a german company. Rotel is a combination of Rolling and Hotel. I guess this 6x2 is based in India only. They are using our JK tyres.

Enjoy! Sorry could not click the inside of the vehicle.

I came across this in 2007 on Delhi-Agra Highway.

and then again on Tiny streets of Agra
While on the move it was easily doing 3 digit speeds.
and its a LHD.
and it was driven by foreigners that time.

With those REG plates,Is it on Carnet?

When we visited ABU for the first time many years ago ( approx 8 years ) at a popular destination for carving on wall and everything architectural namely " Delvara na Dera " ( spelling could be wrong ), I saw a Mercedez-Benz tractor haulinga a huge trailer that was a bus. It was magnificient in size. I dont know if it was this or not.
Again it was also carrying forigen tourists.

Edit : I read in thread starter's post that it was Delvara temples only.! ).

That's a MASSIVE bus and a left hand drive at that!! I would have safety reservations when this bus is travelling on a typical Indian highway, how will he overtake?

On the positive side, I am sure it is mighty comfortable. Seems to be loaded with a kitchenette et all.

Saw it once a couple of years back in Chennai heading towards Mahabs. Wondered then how it have travelled from Europe to India if they had to drive all along.
