Assuming ruling out the Indica also rules out the Indigo & CS, I think the Ikon Tdci makes for a great choice. Perhaps a purpose built one for the Taxi market - with the old front end, no wheel caps etc.
Should make a good option - after all the Ikon is one of the nicer cars in its price range to be driven around in.

Towards the lower spectrum of the market - the Nano!!!

Ikon TDCi.

The Logan is horribly overpriced and nowhere as nice.

Indigo CS. They can always charge the customer Re.1/km more since the CS has a boot(actually half a boot, read this somewhere on this forum, too funny) more. Only the initial investment will be slightly more. Service, spares etc will cost the same.

Next better option would be Ikon IMO. Although I don't have any experience with Ford, some guys on the forum are of the opinion that Ford service/parts are costly.

I voted "Other"

The perfect taxi car in my opinion is the new Ford Icon diesel.

The Swift is the worst choice as a taxi due to it poor rear seat and claustrophobic rear environment.

Why only hatches in the option?

I would go for Logan!
Damn spacious, good ride & comfort!
And for the Taxi operators, it is a good VFM (you get the diesel basic model for 5 lacs!) and excellent FE of 18 - 20 kpl.

I would suggest the Logan - its spacious, not very expensive and gives a decent mileage.

What else is bigger, quicker and cheaper?

A taxi must have good trunk space and comfortable back seat.

Among cars made in India, with sensible pricing, it's the Logan all the way.
Just ride a Meru cab and judge for yourself.

If that black and yellow combination was the taxi color of yesterday, with blue and silver for yesterday evening, metallic teal is quickly becoming the recognizable taxi color of the present day.

If not Indica, what else for Taxi operators?-logancab.jpg

Logan for sure. That boot can swallow a lot of luggage with ease!
The Ikon is gaining acceptance with fleet operators, and the diesel mill will only strengthen that.

I'm already seeing a lot of Logans being used by the taxi operators, The Ikon Tdci would be the next best thing

I totally missed out this Car. Logan is the best choice for Taxi, But what about the maintenance after rough rides from Taxi drivers?

Logan became a popular choice is Bangalore recently once the new airport is opened.
But if I consider all the states in India, Indigo DLS is the most popular one.
