Vikram Sarabhai once remarked "There are some who question the relevance of space activities in a developing nation. To us, there is no ambiguity of purpose. We had this quote in a poster in our classroom at IIT Madras more than 2 decades ago!

And ironically (but fittingly) ISRO's lander is named VIKRAM after him

Goosebumps! Literal goosebumps!

Congratulations, ISRO on this historic achievement!

- India becomes only the fourth country to (successfully) land on the moon
- India becomes the first country to land near the south pole of the moon

What a spectacular achievement. That braking - hover - landing chart: how beautifully perfect was that!

I wonder if we'll ever be able to grasp what this achievement means. ISRO has accorded us an unimaginable honour and privilege. To come out of Chandrayaan-2's heartbreaking last mile failure, and achieve this astounding success in four years - the stuff of legends.

I can't wait to watch the landing video from the Lander's onboard camera.

What a proud and magical moment for being an INDIAn. Congrats ISRO for all the hardwork.

Mantra for success - Try and try again till you succeed.

I have some friends across the border and when chandrayan-2 failed, they mocked it rubbed it on my face and made fun of it and today I’m trying to find where they are hiding their faces and no where they are seen
