Re: Atul Auto pips Mahindra in the 3-wheeler segment

Seems like a temporary setback for M&M. Quoting from Business Line article:

Quote:
When asked about this, Veejay Nakra, CEO – Automotive Division, M&M Ltd, said: “During the transition to BS-6 (emission norms), our three-wheeler sales were affected. There has been some delay in launching our BS-6 range of three-wheelers, given the supply chain disruptions due to Covid-19.”
Going by Atul Auto's corporate presentation (FY20) data, it looks like M&M still has a sizeable lead over Atul Auto:

So I got a question.

How is Atul Auto able to sell a 1:1 replica of the older Piaggio Ape?

Even the motor of that thing sounds like a Piaggio, except......it's not exactly a Piaggio, is it?

Must say, this might be a case of Mahindra spreading themselves too thin.

I didn't know they had 3-wheelers on sale till I read this.

In Gujrat atleast Atul Auto is a hit. My relative in Baroda runs a Mineral water business and he has both Bajaj and Atul Auto in his fleet. According to him Atul Auto ricks are better and last longer.

I have not seen a single Atul Auto rick in Mumbai/Pune region.
Seems like they are only in smaller cities.
