The firm is looking to send at least one rake for testing in each of these markets in the hope that it generates enough interest to translate into export orders. This is great news and hopefully will start showing results with export orders in the coming years.

Re: Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) - Made-In-India Engineless Train

Now a days, I am frequently reading about the stone throwing news in Chennai - Bangalore route. Last week read that it happened in Jolarpet and yesterday in Bangalore itself on VB between KR puram and Bayapanahalli

I have never seen or heard this menace in this route earlier. Is it very common previously also or is there anything going on due to VB launch?

Not surprised to hear about the location.
My wife narrowly escaped from a fatal direct hit last August. A stone hit her while we were at the door. Believe the stone has alread hit some part of the train and rather small bits hit her face narrowly missing her eyes. Was a harrowing experience, proper medical attention could be got only at Salem. Untill then we managed with first aid from a kind fellow passenger. As per the police it seems like someone causing menace intentionally, since a similar case from similar area was reported few days earlier as well. Guess they are yet to find the culprits.
For sure we were wrong to be at the door, no excuse.

India's fastest train officially is the 22625 -Chennai Bangalore Double Decker.

As per the official timetable at https://enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes/ , the train covers the 10 kms distance from Krishnarajapuram to Cantonment in just 2 minutes. That's 300 kmph including start/stop. Beat that, Shinkansen !

That is 1234 to 1246. 10 km in 12 mins, which is very much possible.

EDIT: You meant time table?

11th VB Rake has been dispatched from ICF, PER.
Will this go via Mumbai Goa Route or if SCR Is ready, this will be running in SC TPTY Route via GNT, mostly if lobbying works.

None of the above routes to have the next VB.

NWR confirms through a press release, the next VB will be between NDLS - JP. Tentative flagging off will be 20th March, '23 - though nothing confirmed on the launch date/timetable etc.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/98702723.cms

The NDLS - JP route is also a heavily patronized one (less than BOM - ADI and BOM - PUNE though). It will, however, be interesting to see how the VB can compete against the newly inaugurated Expressway's advantages.

Folks up north can comment on the viability of having a train VS driving down between these cities. Ofcourse, multiple factors work behind selecting the preferred transport medium - start and end locations, timings, convenience etc.

Re: Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) - Made-In-India Engineless Train

Yes, the new VB Is going to JP route. This is the 11th VB and 4th to NR itself.
This route is short of ICE type trains and has only 1 Shatabhi in the morning and with JS and DD in the evening. But again it should have been at least till AII Ajmer as it just another 2 hrs. Running VB for a 4 hr drive is not fully utilizing its potential.

Now the latest VB set given to Southern Railway.
Will the SR now be kind enough to run it Kerala or will they proceed in Madurai route in line with Tejas or hold it till CBE only.

Initial clues point to a Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express. That said, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Kochuveli-Mangalore Vande Bharat (Talks of this service was very active during the recently concluded MPs meeting with the GM of SR).
