The Tatra 12 x 12 truck spotted in Coimbatore - Palakkad highway!
Spotted by a good friend of mine, Ashwin. He is OK in sharing it too. All pic credits to him

I had no idea there was a 12x12. Looks like it is a lengthier version of the 8x8 from the picture if found on the Tatra website.

My office is located next to the BEML factory in Bangalore, but I doubt if they still produce these trucks at this location since I haven't seen them in a while.
I guess they stopped coach manufacturing too for Indian Railways, it is just Metro coaches.
I was of the impression that after 2012 corruption allegations, Tatra trucks stopped supply of vehicles to Indian Army.
Tata & Ashok Leyland had come up with alternate models during that time.
However, a websearch after seeing the pics above mention that it is not the case. As per some news reports, since corruption charges were against India partner, they have set up a new joint venture in India and started supply of vehicles again starting 2016.
BEML was earlier involved in just assembling the CKD units received. I have seen the vehicles during aero India and even the tail light is manufactured in Czech republic..

I haven't seen a Tatra in real life until yesterday.
Few Tatra trucks were en route to Military camp and saw them in traffic.
These trucks are huge and I got scared to ride along them in Traffic in my yamaha RX.
