Recently, Volvo delivered its 10,000th truck in India. It has become the first premium European truck manufacturer to achieve this milestone. The 10,000th vehicle was the FMX440 8x4 I-Shift.

Volvo's truck range in India includes the FH, FMX and FM. With this range, the company also provides the option of I-Shift automated gearbox technology and the Dynafleet telematics system which provides real time information to the vehicle owners about the location and vehicle performance.

As of today, Volvo trucks facilitate around one-third of the coal production in the country. Their trucks enjoy over 60% market share in the premium European heavy duty segment.

Earlier, we had reported that the company was planning to invest upto Rs. 700 crores to expand its business in India (link to news article). The company has already invested over Rs. 1,000 crores in India over the past decade.
