Camouflaged Volvo B9R being tested - Why?

At least that is the inference that I made after seeing a couple of buses in camo at Shoolagiri pump.

Could not make out any visible change though. Looked like a regular B9R to me.

From the light console, and the metallic Alloy Wheels, I think this is an export product. Volvo exports B9Rs to a lot of countries from India - had seen a few Africa bound pieces a couple of years back at Volvo, Hoskote. Moreover, the way its covered doesn't look like a camouflage.

Even i think its the same, for Export mainly to South Africa. On the front you can notice a series of lights placed on the top portion near front glass which will be missing in Indian version. You can see a lot of these kind of buses parked between SriPerumbadur and Ranipet on way to Chennai waiting to be shipped across.

This is not a camouflage. This likely to be a protective film to protect paint shade during transit.
