The Tata Prima 3138.K has been built specifically for deep mining in coal, iron ore, lignite mines and bulk limestone movement in off-road applications. It is a 4-axle, 31-tonne GVW tipper with a 9-speed Eaton manual transmission. This 8X4 tipper is powered by the Cummins ISLe CRDi engine which has a maximum power output of 380 HP. Features include new generation brakes, ABS and hub reduction axle specially designed for mining. The 19 Cum Hardox Rock body is designed for overburden in coal, iron and limestone applications. It has an air-conditioned non-sleeper cabin with pneumatically adjustable seats.

The Tata LPK 3118 8x2 Haulage Tipper is a 4-axle (steerable front axles) tipper, developed for surface transportation of coal supply, earth work, aggregate / sand movement, road construction and port & industrial handling. Re: Tata showcases 6 new construction vehicles (ConsTruck Range)

Tata's CV division is obviously far more advanced and mature than its PV business as is obvious from the number of appropriate products they are able to bring out.
As a layman, I cant see anything lacking in Tata's CVs as compared to what's available in the market from Ashok Leyland, Bharat Benz or Volvo (similar price range). What's particularly noteworthy is that the Prima cab / chassis seems to be very modular and lends itself to multiple applications so easily. Well done Tata!

Re: Tata showcases 6 new construction vehicles (ConsTruck Range)

As usual, the CV division of Tata seems like it is very well prepared to stay on track as absolute leader of CVs in India, and is slowly starting to invade into segments that were dominated by foreign players.

The 3138K was already available as far as I know. It is in direct competition with products from DICV, Volvo and Scania in India, and is well matched with them.

The LPK3118 is a prime example of how well Tata's CVBU is tuned to the needs of its customers. Many 3118 trucks were being used to transport articles like sand, fine ores etc. A tipper will be perfect for such operators, who can cut down turn around times by saving time in unloading operation.

The LPK 3723 concrete mixer will be loved by operators who use their trucks for large construction projects.

The PrimaLX tipper range will bring the Prima tippers within the financial reach of many more operators.

In the same breath, the Prima range now has no less than 6 tractors and 6 tippers, and there was some talk of PrimaLX rigid trucks also getting launched soon.

Re: Tata showcases 6 new construction vehicles (ConsTruck Range)

Tata Motors is mulling increasing prices of its commercial vehicles portfolio by about 1 per cent on account of offsetting higher input and operational costs., Renault may also follow. Here's a link to the news:
